I heard something scratching under the cabinet in my kitchen but saw no evidence of anything getting in so I had no idea if it was a mouse, rat, chipmunk, squirrel, mole, etc. so I bought the bigger one just in case. I wanted to put it inside bc all I have is a crawl space underneath my house and it's too much of a pain to get under there and I want to be sure I'm catching whatever is making all this noise and not just every animal that runs by under there bc we have a ton of chipmunks running thru my yard, deck etc. Because I couldn't see any evidence or where it/they were getting in, I couldn't put it "near evidence" and I couldn't put it along a wall bc my walls in that area are not accessible with the stove, fridge, cabinets etc. in the way so I put it along the bottom of the cabinet with it's opening facing the opening between the cabinet and the stove blocking its entrance to the open floor should it come from between there. It was super easy to follow directions and set up ... I handled it with gloves only to not get human scent on it, put a dab of peanut butter in the bait section, inserted new batteries, put the magnetic top of and flipped the power switch to ON. The green light flashed to show it was on and the light goes back off until something is caught. I waited several days... Maybe 4-5 days passed and I was so excited when I heard something scratch metal like it had been near my stove! I got up super early like 5am and the green light was flashing!!!! Score!!! I won't attach pics bc I couldn't look at it. I specifically bought this kind so that I could just dump it without having to look at it. I dumped it in a garbage bag, sealed it right and tossed it. It was TINY so now I'm worried it's a baby mouse and there's a mama.... Great. It was easy to clean - no mess except tiny drops of what looked like saliva - clear liquid. I cleaned it with damp paper towel and gloves, reset it and put it in same place.
Sure enough I kept hearing the same noise. Almost a week later again, about 5 days, I heard lots of noise around the stove area and get up at 5am and the green light is flashing again!!!!! I'm so glad I found this easy solution. Id rather give this a try instead of calling an exterminator out. This definitely works and it's super convenient. Highly recommend!
