5.0 out of 5 stars Nice Design and Easy to Install
Reviewed in the United States on January 16, 2022
These snow guards are simple in design, very sturdy, and their copper color matched our copper color metal roof very well. We had a 12" snowfall the first part of January and they performed flawlessly. Last year I had sheets of melting snow sliding off the roof into the driveway and had to watch overhead every time I was outside under the roofline. This time the snow guards held the snow in place and allowed it to melt in place and drain off through the gutters and downspouts. No leaks through the roof but I am keeping an eye on that over time to make sure they continue to be leak free. Only gripe I have is the screws they provide are silver and not painted to match the guard color. I ended up buying copper color metal roof screws from another vendor. Some people may not be bothered by the silver color screws but it would have bugged me.

The roofing company that installed my metal roof did a great job, but the snow guards they quoted were giant metal things that didn’t fit the look of our house and were very expensive I found these online and installed them myself. I called the manufacturer for installation help and spoke directly to one of the owners. Great to support a small family business, btw! Product is well made. Molded in color matched my roof perfectly for an inconspicuous install. Silicon gaskets worked well for as tight seal I’ve yet to have a heavy snowfall, do I cannot yet comment on performance. We live in NC, at about 2000 ft and rarely get over 6” at a time, so I expect we’ll be fine.
I sent pictures and contact information to my roofer, who plans to use these on future projects.

5.0 out of 5 stars Should work!

Pretty easy to install. If you have a big shop like mine, you'll probably wanna rent a lift. It'll make it faster and easier. I didn't install them like they said in the directions. I would have needed 100s of them. I have and 80' long shop and it took 100 to do 1 row across the front. We will see if its enough to stop the snow from sliding off. A couple words of caution:
#1 don't screw them into your perlins if they are metal. The screws they supply will snap off as soon as they bite into the metal perlin. There are 3 screws that hold each one on. I screwed them just into the sheet metal and they aren't going anywhere.
#2. Don't overtighten the screws, they will strip easily in the sheet metal. They will bite hard enough to squash the seals on the screws a little which is what you want for a good seal.
Otherwise, pretty self explanatory. I hope they keep the snow and ice from sliding off and breaking my wall lights off. We don't get a lot of snow here which is why I was ok with the shortness of them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy and functional.

You don't have to be a roofer or building engineer to get these gizmos up and working. Nicely packaged with everything you need but the electric drill. I got 50 of them up in no time and I'm 77 years old! It snowed 8 inches last night and so far the snow has held in place, and that's what they are supposed to do! Good product at a pretty fair price. I'll buy more of these if necessary.

Very happy with these so far. Easy to install, definitely need to drill pilot holes prior to attaching with screws. I just used the gasket that comes with it as a template along with a sharpie to mark where I needed to drill. Nice not having to use calk. Warning: the metal roof will wear down your drill bits, so make sure you have a few extra. The brown matched well with my brown metal roof, so I think it looks pretty good.

The real test will be winter, so I will update after we have had a few serious snowfalls. (?)

3.0 out of 5 stars Worked but overpriced.

I bought 3 boxes of these to use on my pole barn. Unless you screw these down into the purlins I don't think they'd do any good. And because of the spacing of the holes on it you can only get one screw into the purlin, but one screw for each block should be enough.

If I were to do it over I'd throw out the rubber gaskets and just put a drop of silicone in the hole before drilling. The packages come warnings about the amount of compressibility for the gaskets; who can get that just right? And since I'm using 1 screw I may be compromising the gasket.

Speaking of screws, the screws that come with it don't match so I threw them all away. What's the point of color matching these to the roof with gray screws?

In the end I'm satisfied but costs way too much for a box of plastic blocks (since the screws and gaskets are worthless). Won't really know until after my first season of snow.
