Great for hot/humid weather

I love these little fans. Recently ordered two and one didn't work when received so they sent a replacement. Unfortunately I was gone on a trip and it was sent back without my knowledge because PO said I didn't pick it up in time. Also-if you take it to the beach, be aware that sand can get inside the tube where the water comes up through the sprayer if you're not careful, and don't get the area wet where the batteries are. Learned that the hard way! They are great for cooling off though! I'm hoping they will send the one back to me!

My kiddo wanted this mist fan for summer camp. It held up for the week of camp but on the last day the fan started to be finicky and unreliable. After another day or two it failed completely and was just a fancy spray bottle.
We let it sit for a week or so and suddenly the fan works again, but my kid says it's not as powerful as it used to be. Not sure if water got into the battery compartment or what. At least I t still mostly works.

As I’m sure everyone already knows, the summer heat here in California is often times unbearable. I was wanting something to cool off with, so I did some research on Amazon. I love how easy and convenient rechargeable fans are, but I also didn’t want to have to worry about keeping it charged. That’s why this one caught my attention, all you have to do is pop in 2 AA batteries and you’re good to go for a pretty long time. I also loved the fact that it has a mister. All that being said, I didn’t expect a whole lot, but I figured that since it was very reasonably priced, I’d give it a try anyways. I’m very impressed by the power this little fan has, and the mist takes it to the next level! It truly is very effective at cooling you off. I also love that the blades of the fan are soft, so you’re not going to hurt yourself if it hits you. You can also add ice to the water to cool you off even more. My only complaint is that, as other reviewers have mentioned, the battery cover does not stay closed. I have had the batteries fall out, so I might have to tape it closed. All in all, this fan may seem small, but it’s got power and it gets the job done for sure! Highly recommend that you try it out.

The fan could be stronger for requiring TWO AA batteries, one of the batteries fell out TWICE while mowing the lawn. I happened upon the battery the first time while going the other direction, the second time it fell out I never found it. I expect to see it another day. The mister is extremely LIGHT, as in, you have to spray your face 10-15 times to feel wet and cooler. And you can just forget spraying your arms, chest, and shoulders! I could have used one of my reusable zip ties to keep the batteries in, but nothing would have helped the other two problems.

Some unfortunate design choices

It's functional enough for the price, but there are just some rather bizarre design choices that I wasn't aware of when I purchased this unit.

First off, the battery slot has an extremely weak plastic tab holding the compartment closed. It's so weak that the compartment opens all on it's own if you move the unit around in your hand even a little bit. A bit of tape as others suggested fixed this issue for the most part.

The second problem is with how you fill the water reservoir. Some genius decided that the standard detachable reservoir was just too functional I guess and so they decided to made the bottom of the bottle a screw cap instead. In other words you have to turn the unit upside down, unscrew the bottom of the base and then pour water into the reservoir. This is problematic for at least two glaringly obvious reasons.

1. You WILL spill some water over the edge while filling because it is awkward to hold. Normally this isn't a problem with a detached reservoir because you just wipe it off, but there is a battery compartment downstream from the reservoir when you turn it upside down, and it has open holed allowing water to easily get in there from any spills you might make. Needless to say, tap water and electronics do not mix well and this is a terrible design decision as a result.

2. If you accidentally break the seal on the bottom cap after filling, all the water will come pouring out. There's a reason why almost all liquid containers open from the top and not the bottom, to avoid this very problem.

It's cheap and it's technically functional, but you have to work with it a bit to get it there. Do not leave with young kids without supervision, because water + battery generally leads to corrosion and leakages.
