    I've waited several months to write this review because I wanted to give an evaluation based on usage over time. This is a solid, sturdy fire pit ring that has held up well over several months of moderate usage. I'd like to address two issues other folks mentioned:

    1. Some said that the pieces didn't connect together well--there were gaps or alignment issues. I'd read the reviews so I was watching for this. Randomly setting the four pieces together at first did result in gaps and poor alignment. I simply kept rearranging the four pieces until the alignment was correct. Ideally, this shouldn't be necessary but attempting a few different configurations will apparently yield a nice tight fit (see my attached photo).

    2. Some said that their ring rusted terribly in a short time. I have not found that to be true. My second picture shows the fire ring after several months of usage and being kept outside in the weather the entire time. There is almost no rust at all.

    One thing I did do from the start was to replace the provided bolts with harder Grade 8 bolts. It was a very small expense but a good choice for making sure the connectors are not compromised by the heat. The provided bolts are alright, but they're pretty cheap and I expected them to rust quickly. I chose to head that off from the start by replacing them.

    In summary, I like this fire pit ring a lot. It's exactly what I wanted, meets my performance and appearance expectations, and I'd buy it again if I needed another one.

This product was recommended on YouTube, but after assembling and installing, I found some issues with the product. After assembling you have a little gap, about 1/8" between each piece so if that is going to bother you, then don't buy this or be prepared to see it all the time. The build quality is okay, but could've used more weld around the seams. I'll attached photos for your viewing pleasure. Overall, I would still recommend this particular insert because of its 10 inch height. Many of the other inserts are 4 to 6 inches. Hope this help you in your decision. God Bless!!!

    Like some other people, I was looking for a fire ring to convert into a smokeless fire pit. The steel is adequate for this purpose as it is approximately 1/8 inch thick. It was delivered without any damage even though the box wasn’t so lucky. Not difficult to put together either.

    I got this for my little diy backyard firepit and it works great. I was surprised by how sturdy/heavy it is. There are 2 different shapes to the panels so make sure they are in the proper place before putting in the screws. It did take a little unexpected effort to keep the panels lined up while screwing them together but the end result makes up for it. If you're doing a similar project, I would buy the ring first and take measurements before purchasing bricks and other materials as it's not 100% a perfect circle (off by maybe 1/4"). Everything said, I'm very pleased with this product.

    When trying to bolt the 4 pieces together it quickly becomes apparent that the holes do not align because of the large weld spots in the corners where the pieces overlap. The weld spots force you to either lift one piece above the weld spot, in which case the holes do not align, or keep the holes aligned and allow a gap between the pieces, in which case the bolts aren't long enough. I had to use my grinder to grind the sloppy weld spots out of the way. Of course I had to run to the store to get a grinder blade, adding to my frustration. It's a major mistake to place large weld blobs inside a corner where 2 pieces are supposed to join tightly. I would take pictures to illustrate but this has taken enough of my time. If you have a grinder and spare time, it might be worth it to you, as the pieces are pretty heavy duty, though the paint flakes off quite easily. I personally found the experience to be very frustrating, all because of poor design and shoddy manufacturing. The bolts and nuts also seem to be low quality and will probably rust fairly soon. I'm going to spray some paint on them but I'm sure I'll be having to deal with replacing those sooner than I want to. I should've gotten all new quality stainless steel bolts, nuts, and washers, but I couldn't stand the idea of spending any more time on this.
