In 18 years in this house, I've never felt a need to remove snow from the roof. However, on a leanto roof attached to the barn wall, years of leaves had accumulated up where the leanto meets the barn wall. In fact, the leaves had been there too long (and I'm too old go get on that roof) and had turned into stiff organic matter that was supporting beginning little trees. I bought this tool because it was long enough to reach to the top of the leanto roof and I could pull all the leaves and organic material down toward me and off the leanto roof. It worked reasonably well, and I was able to clear all 40 feet of the leanto roof in about 2 hours. I had to use the edge of the "blade" to dig out the matted organic material, and it would have helped for it to be "square" instead of angled.
Regardless, the tool was strong and worked well with no issues.
