5.0 out of 5 stars The Ultimate Beetle Buster! ????????
Reviewed in the United States on May 28, 2024
I recently got my hands on the Spectracide Bag-A-Bug Japanese Beetle Trap, and wow, it's a game-changer! ???? I've had a constant battle with these pesky beetles munching on my garden, but this trap has made a noticeable difference.

First off, the dual lure system is genius. It attracts beetles from a wider area, unlike other traps I've tried that only cover a small radius. The setup is super easy – just hang it up and let it do its thing. Within a few MINUTES, there were beetles in the bag! Within a few days, the bag was already filling up with beetles. It's oddly satisfying to see the bag full, knowing your plants are safe.

Compared to other beetle traps, the Spectracide Bag-A-Bug stands out because it’s not only effective but also durable. Some traps I've used in the past have flimsy bags that tear easily, but this one is sturdy and can handle a full load without any issues. Plus, it comes with an extra bag...

If you're tired of beetles treating your garden like a buffet, give this trap a try. It's efficient, affordable, and just plain works. Plus, it's a great conversation starter – my neighbors have been asking about it, and now they’re all getting one too! ????????

Seriously, get this trap and reclaim your garden. You won't regret it! ????????

5.0 out of 5 stars The only "organic" method that really works !!!
Reviewed in the United States on May 17, 2024
I have a small orchard that I planted a few years ago. We also have roses and our usual veggie garden, etc. While not 100% "organic," I do try to keep to natural principles as much as I can.

The past 2 years the Japanese Beetles have come in swarms so bad that they literally killed 2 of my trees and almost completely denuded several others (they especially like my sweet cherry trees !!!)
I do use natural Pyretherins as an insecticide, but being a contact poison the Japanese beetles tend to do too much damage by the time they kick the bucket. And with literal swarm numbers, it's just too much for my young trees.
I know traps CAN work, but from my experience with other brands, I didn't get my hopes up.
These traps are GREAT! I put them out ahead of time as sentinels and as soon as the swarms came, the traps reduced the numbers hitting the plants and trees to the point of saving everything!
Science (insect sex pheromones) + horny little beetles = bags full of DEAD beetles !!!
Additionally, while really not that costly in comparison, the plastic dividers are reusable while the bags and attractants are available as refills!
In all ways, truly worth the money!

Beetles were taking over my backyard and killing my trees. It was very easy instructions and took about 3 minutes to put together and hang. Id recommend finding a hook to hang it on away from your tree. I have had mine up only a few days and atleast 50+beetles are inside the bag. I will definitely be buying a few more of these for other areas of the yard.

A touch pricey for one tablet. Previously able to buy multiple tablets for a reasonable price. Good quality product and does the job it was intended to do. Easy to install in bag a bug holder, pleasant smell, appropriate size. Unfortunately product melted slightly due to heat when it arrived.

I put this bug trap on my shepherds crook about 20 feet away from my contorted filbert tree. The Japanese beetles were decimating the leaves. In less than 24 hours the bag was filled up! We wanted to reuse the bag so we dumped all of the Beatles into a 5 gallon bucket. Gross! Now the bag is on duty down by our raspberry bushes. I would give this 10 stars if I could. Great product and fantastic price.

Lowest Score for any of my reviewed items.
Beetles massacred my grape plants even with these (I think I used 2 about 80' apart and 25 fft from the plants...

It was a grape plant holocaust.

At a time when almost nothing does what it says it will do these traps are pleasant surprise. They work. There are a couple problems. 1. the bait begins to diminish right away. The product material says they can last a full beetle season and that is not true. Secondly, they only provide I extra bag. The bags have to be changed not because they are full but because the odor from the dead beetles keeps the traps from attracting the beetles.
