    I like the time you get off one battery charge. I'm 63 and this weed eater suits me well the lenght of the shaft is comfortable for me. It's easy to put together. It's is fast, works great and is lightweight enough for me to be very satisfied

    Great design. Adjustable for whatever size height you are. Charge lasts about a half hour. First spool included lasted a long time. Took out most weeds. Did some thick weeds and it did struggle but it worked. Good price too.

    This trimmer/edger is a perfect tool to complement my other yard tools. I like how light it is but durable and sturdy. The ability to easily unlock rotate and twist so that you can go from trimmer to edger is very efficient and convenient. It’s very quiet For such a tool and does low to moderate work in the yard. I did have a little issue with it cutting too far into my grass, but I guess it’s just that I need to adjust how it cuts when I’m edging. I recommend this tool for the money.

    So, I’m female, 5’2” tall, 70 years old, and hate manual labor.

    I live in a spot in the country carved out of brush and very determined, successful weeds. My weeds aren’t the kind that pop up in the putting green-style suburban lawns. Mine are angry, tough, and used to doing whatever the heck they want. They are the Viking invaders of weeds. They will grab your foot while you’re looking at them and try to wrap you up and drag you into the brush.

    So I have no choice but to go to battle with them lest the cover, grab, and move my house into the woods.

    I had my doubts about this weed eater. Since it’s battery powered and lightweight, I wondered if it was a glorified toy.

    Rest assured it is not. It’s a deceptive beast.

    I’ve had my share of weed eaters in the never ending endeavor. Name brand, gas powered, weighed about like a cooler full of beer, deafening, taller than me, and inevitably surrender to the weeds.

    So, I did my due diligence on yet another weed eater, aka money pit, and this one seemed to be the best buzz for the buck.

    Boy, was I right!

    First, it’s lightweight! I can easily use it for an hour without breaking my back. The adjustable shaft length and handle position enabled me to fit it to my height and stubby arms.

    It also self-feeds the string. Excellent innovation. Not once has it clogged or tangled and I didn’t have to continually smack its head on the ground to get it to play nice.

    It chews through weeds like they are cotton candy. Clean cuts, really fast.

    Finally, the battery rocks. I’ve run it for an hour and it hasn’t quit on me yet. Recharges in about 15 minutes. And is a breeze to snap on and off.

    Also, it’s a Black & Decker and the battery fits my B&D leaf blower! On a side note, I have the large B&D humane critter trap and it’s the best. Doesn’t even need a battery.

    I am so pleased, I was looking for new weeds to buzz just to watch them die.

    Highly recommend!

    I loved my first generation Black and Decker 20V weed whacker and the little mower deck attachment. It has been perfect for cutting and trimming my small yard, and is really easy for a retiree (read “old person”) to handle. When the motor finally wore out, I was unsure whether the newest Black and Decker weed whacker would fit on the old mower deck, but happily IT DOES! And, the old 20V Max battery fits as well.

    It also seems like Black and Decker has made vast improvements in the design and quality, as this unit feels much more sturdy than the old one. It also runs smoother and quieter, and battery life seems to be a good bit better even using one of my old batteries. I wholeheartedly give this 5 stars.

    I had a 40V B&D cordless string trimmer for years, but eventually wore it out. I wanted to replace it with a 40V but could find it only in 20V. Although the battery doesn't seem to last as long, it is powerful enough and lasts long enough for the trimming I do around my yard (1/2 acre). If I want to do edging, I must recharge my batter to complete the job. But I know that in advance and plan accordingly. What I like m most is the ease to adjust the trimmer and adjust the edger. I find it comfortable enough and light enough to use - even thought I'm a 76 year old male! I wish the trimmer line would last longer, but that is the nature of nylon string trimmers. Of the options I researched, this seems like the best choice for me.

    A handy, terrific little tool. A full charge on the battery will give you about half an hour of weed-whacking, which is sufficient for most small yards. It cuts well, not much noise, no nasty petroleum fumes, easy and handy to use.

    Pros:

    Comes with a battery (though only 2Ah)

    Cons:
    The included battery is useless as the runtime is too short (got a 5Ah)

    Hate the safety button that you have to press before pulling the trigger (old one didn't have that) as it often pinches my skin but moreover is totally unnecessary and a hassle! I will disable this permanently!

    The handles used to have a knob you tightened down to hold them in place, while this model has a different weaker mechanism that allows the handle to change positions on me when using it.

    The old model allowed you to pull on the business end and twist it around to switch to edger mode - this newer model requires you to unscrew a knurled lock on the shaft, turn the shaft around, then tighten it back up into the locked position -- not nearly as quick and convenient as the old way, which only took a second!

    It's a weed wacker, so not the end of the world, but B&D has devolved the design and ease of use imho and I like the old one much better (but the motor burned up after over a decade of use). I will keep this one and use it, but it's not a tool I will appreciate using, but more tolerate using.
