5.0 out of 5 stars Works great for crate training

The media could not be loaded.
I purchased the Furbo primarily to give my puppy food rewards when she is calm in the crate, and to be able to check on her when we leave the house. It works great for these purposes with a wire crate. I put the Furbo on the floor next to the crate, with the ejection spout centered between two wires. It was well priced during prime day. If I had to pay full price for it, I might look at cheaper alternatives.

I am not using the rotating, tracking, or smart alert features of the Furbo. I'm not using its speaker that allows you to remotely talk to your dog. I've heard that some dogs get stressed hearing their person's voice when they are away from home, and I don't want to chance that. I recorded silence for the treat toss sound, so as not to alarm the puppy.

I load the Furbo with dog kibble, and set the treat size to "small". The bark alert feature works well when its sensitivity is set to "medium". There are a few false positives triggered by people talking in the house, but if I set it to "low" it misses some barking. I turn off the bark alerts when I am home, but enable them when I leave the house.

Although the Furbo comes with few instructions other than the setup guide, it's very easy to setup and use. There is a tutorial built into the app that explains how to use it.

I'm not planning to use the Dog Nanny subscription, but it came with a free month of service that was automatically turned on. I found the service to be overly intrusive. It flooded my phone with alerts. Eventually I found the settings screen for the Nanny alerts and turned them all off. I'm not planning to pay for the service when the free month ends. The service might be more valuable to someone who lets their pets roam free when they are out of the house, but my puppy is always crated when left alone.

I was nervous about the many negative reviews that complained about Furbo losing Wifi access, but I found its internet communication to be rock solid. Since I installed it, we have had a power failure and an internet outage, but the Furbo recovered from both of those and automatically reconnected. Others complained that their dog was able to remove the lid and steal treats, but the lid on my Furbo fits very tight and my dog is unable to open it.

Furbo is a quality and reliable product, and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Furbo Dog Camera has been a game-changer for me and my pup! I love being able to check in on my dog while I’m at work or out for the day. The video quality is excellent, even at night, and the 160-degree wide-angle lens lets me see the entire room. The two-way audio feature is amazing—I can talk to my dog and even calm him down if he’s feeling anxious.

One of the best parts is the treat-tossing feature! My dog has so much fun with it, and it keeps him entertained when I’m not home. Plus, Furbo sends bark alerts and even activity updates, so I’m always in the loop on what he’s up to. I feel so much more connected to my dog, and it gives me peace of mind knowing I can check in on him anytime. Worth every penny for pet parents!

5.0 out of 5 stars Peace of mind when we travel

This camera and the Furbo Nanny feature are great. We can check on our dogs any time. The treat feature is a lot of fun too. Video quality is really good, you can pan and zoom and talk to your pets. The AI is so, so. Doesn't always identify what they are doing correctly. But you can train it. Was able to catch our dogs destroying a sofa and notified our petsitter who came to the rescue. We also added a smaller Furbo mini in our kitchen. Easy to set up, App is simple, you can set timers on the cameras too. Highly recommend if your pets are alone.

4.0 out of 5 stars Updated: I bought 2 of these 1.5 years apart, with sub. App could use work but the camera is great

UPDATE NOV 2020: I bought another one (when it was on sale for about 40% off, I would not pay full price if planning on using without premium features - Furbo's premium bundle may be a cheaper option if you are willing to shell out the full price) about a year and a half after my first purchase as I had to leave my first one behind in a different country when I returned home due to COVID conditions. The first time around I had the premium subscription feature, but this time I decided I only need the treat tossing and camera feature so I am currently using it on regular features. While I was on the sub, they would periodically send surveys asking things like which features would you like, how much would you be willing to pay for these features, etc. They have since taken away many of the free features and added them to the sub so obviously the rest of their clientelle is richer than I am. But they did keep the basics which is what I need so I am okay with that so far. Free feature comes with the camera (+ audio), treat tossing, voice recording to play when tossing a treat, and barking alerts. Premium features more or less make the Furbo into a security camera (person alert, alarm alert, etc.) which was useful for me on the first one because I lived on my own (it would let me know when apartment management came by to do maintenance while I wasn't home, etc.) but not so much anymore because we have a separate security camera system at my current place.

The product has not changed much (the app has updated - keep reading for app review), the camera is still great, 1080p with great night vision. Functionality has not changed either, I am using Zuke's brand training treats and it tosses out 3-5 at a time (they are 2 calories each so this is a good amount). I do not have Alexa connected to the new one so I don't know how much improvement there has been for that. The issue I had with the app is connecting the new device. The green light indicating the device was on connection mode was on but the app would do nothing when I pressed next. I spoke to the live chat help within the app but it crashed when I attempted to upload a photo of the device serial number as they requested and couldn't get back into the chat room again. They then contacted me by e-mail to follow up (good customer service on that end, though I fixed the issue on my own by then). The issue was that the app asks you for permission to access location when setting up first, but if you click on "only this time" instead of "all the time" the app will not respond for whatever reason. It connected properly once I gave it location access for "all the time" (I took away the permission after set up and it works fine without it). One star off for that this time because app needs some troubleshooting. I did not have many issues with the app prior to the update.

Also I recorded the same thing I had on the first camera to play when tossing a treat and my dog still recognizes it (:

FIRST REVIEW AUG 2019:
I bought this camera after doing a lot of research on other pet cameras. I specifically wanted one that could do wifi streaming, treat tossing, and Alexa capability. It does all those things plus night vision quality is great, but like some other reviewers mentioned Alexa does not work correctly so one star off for that (but that could also be an Alexa specific thing, as she has trouble with some of my other appliances). I mainly use it to keep an eye on my 9 month old pup who likes to eat my chairs while I'm gone to class and on my 1 month old Roomba that likes to chase her around. Works great for that purpose and night vision quality is great, much better than I originally anticipated. Treat tossing is good too, at first I used kibbles but it shoots out a lot at once so I switched to larger treats broken into pieces. My pup learned very quickly that my voice coming from it means cookies. It also doubles as a security camera with person detection.

Also the daily diary videos are a hoot! I look forward to watching them every day (:
