My jenday loves this food. It's all she'll free so you're getting more food for your money. It's a healthier alternative to pair with pellets than seed. Great value especially for the size. Was fresh

4.0 out of 5 stars The mix has some sort of spice smell to it!

I purchased this product on the recommendation of an online Amazon birdclub whose members highly recommended it. I didn’t question the recommendation and purchased the large size bag. As soon as I opened the bag, I could smell a “spice” smell that reminded me of something skunky I used to smoke - the smell was so off putting and triggering that I closed up the bag and brought it to a family member’s home who feeds all the outdoor critters — I am happy to report the crows love it! Maybe no one else will have that reaction to the smell, but, wow, one whiff of this bird food and I was taken aback to a time and place I never want to go back to!

So when it comes to picking pet food I will say I’m not the biggest fan of many USA made brands as the standards are quite low and the brands that do offer good quality food cost an arm and a leg. With that being said, I do prefer certain Canadian pet food brands for my parrot and dog. So when I saw this mix I was very intrigued. My 8 year Meyers parrot was instantly interested, which is surprising considering how picky she can be. Ive been feeding aww this in conjunction with Harrison’s pellets and homemade bird chop (fresh veggie mix) and the occasional fruit treats. As you can see in the picture she was patiently waiting for the food bowl to be put in lol. I also have the bad habit of forgetting to check weight or size of online products when ordering. I was pleasantly surprised with size of the bag (4lbs) as I assumed it would be around 1lbs. I also keep my parrot’s food mixes and pellets in the freezer to prolong freshness, this food is very great option for the variety and bag size

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for treats but poor for proper dietary needs

This feed is generally speaking a good buy if your looking for some seed, pellet and dried fruit based treats to use during training sessions with your birds. However, I feel it is imperative that if you are looking to use this feed as a permanent diet for your bird that this feed is not worth your coin. Birds need alot of vitamins and enrichment in their diets and no matter how much a feed may claim they are healthy and nutritional, nothing that is mainly just a bunch of seeds has enough vitamins to keep your birds healthy and in prime conditions. My recommendation for diet is the Harrisons bird feed due to the various vitamins and content the feed has that actually promotes good health in birds. It is a bit more expensive but it is definitely worth the coin in the long run. In addition, make sure to continuously offer your birds plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits in order to further enrich their diet and supply them what they need to live a long healthy life!

We only have 1 Quaker Parrot and it's cheaper to buy a bulk bag, so to make it last I used my vacuum can sealer so that I know it will stay fresh. A 20lb bag fills 15 pint jars and most of a quart. The mix seems to be a very good healthy blend of dehydrated fruits veg, seeds and pellets.
