5.0 out of 5 stars This duck goose starter feed is great. Order early it took 2 weeks to arrive.

Daphne was an over achiever this year. Her success rate was 16 of 17. But she hatched them out over 35 days. I realized I was going to exhaust the 50# of "zoo supply brand" of water fowl starter. This feeder is cheaper and more complete than the zoo feed. But it took two weeks to get here (USPS) so I had to mix my own for a week. The geese will be brooding next so I will grab 2 bags to start in February. The brood their own so it will be fun trying to keep the adults out of it.

This feed is crumble, clean ingredients, does not smell like the zoo food. I will not use the P food since it takes about $20 a bag of brewers yeast and other additives to make it complete.

The rule on ducklings is I kick them out of the brooder in the house after 6 weeks or two inches of wind bones. I get to boot them out sooner with this starter than my homemade mix.

I have some mallard ducklings that recently hatched. They are the sweetest little things... This food is perfect to keep them healthy. They are growing up so fast! I accredit it to the food. :)

I'm new to the duck world. We got 2 baby ducks via the mail over spring break. They are now 2 months old and are big, healthy, happy boys. This seems to be good value feed for the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality feed.

Mama mallard decided to hatch and raise her ducklings in our fenced backyard. It quickly became obvious that the supply of available insects, worms, plants, and other food sources would not be enough for the long term, so we purchased this product as a supplement.

After two days, they began eating it. After a week, it became their twice daily primary food source - and they really began to grow. At four weeks, mama took them elsewhere and we haven't seen them since. We were just glad to see them growing healthy and strong. Needless to say, the grandkids loved watching them eat.

This feed appears to be wholesome and filling, unlike some of the major brands. The ducks (including mama duck) really seemed to enjoy it.

We'll buy again if need be.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product!

I'm glad I found something better than the cheap garbage of Purina or Pedigree without breaking the bank! This food also helps ducklings get the nutrition they need without having health issues. I've read numerous people using other brands of feed and their ducklings end up deprived of vital nutrients. I've never had an issue with any of my babies and I was able to lower their heat much quicker to get them outside daily as opposed to the keeping them in heat until 2 months old. My babies were only 3 weeks old when they were adapted to the cold quickly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Keeps the ducklings alive

I buy this for a domestic duck rescue. Unfortunately, ignorant people buy ducklings for their children, especially at Easter time then when they realize their care they just release them at a park where 95% will die. Domestic ducks can't survive long in the wild and ducklings can't survive at all. So this poor rescue is always over saturated with babies this time of year.
