5.0 out of 5 stars Shrimp pellets for your bottom feeders

My catfish really love these shrimp pellets and gobble them up quickly when I feed them. They sink quickly to the bottom so the other fish in my tank don't bother them and can be left for my bottom feeder catfish. High quality ingredients that won't cloud the water as they dissolve. Very good price too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Almost all my fish like these.

While I purchase this to feed my Corys and bottom dwellers, almost all the fish, even the tetras love to grab one and run with it while their tankmates give chase. They break up within a few minutes and smaller bottom dwellers or even Tetras can get their share while bigger fish usually gobble them up as they fall. I've got Kuhli Loaches that will find one of these and encircle it with their eel-like body while consuming it and protecting it from any others. There can be 5 or 6 of these all lying not far from one another and the fish will still pick one or two and fight over those. If you have timid hiders, you may have to strategically drop one or two of these very near their hideouts so they don't have to compete with the gluttons of the tank.

Pretty much all my fish and shrimp and snails will eat these. But if any is uneaten, remove it as soon as possible to avoid fouling your nitrogen cycle with these.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cory Cats and Fire Eel love them!

These sink straight to the bottom and soften after a few minutes. My cory cats and fire eel love them. They are small enough pellets that the larger fish ignore them, but the smaller bottom feeders devour them.

4.0 out of 5 stars fish like it, just a little too big
Reviewed in the United States on July 25, 2020
I have three cory catfish that are constantly working the bottom of my tank and I am sometimes concerned that there may not be food getting to them.

I bought these to drop in a few times a week just to make sure they have enough.

The fish definitely like them and will eat them pretty fast. They sink immediately 80% of the time. I have a strong current so they never end up where I want them but the fish find them eventually. The floaters eventually sink and get eaten.

What I do not like is these are too big to be eaten immediately. They take at least 15 minutes to absorb water and soften. They eventually get eaten but the catfish tend to push them into the gravel when they first fall and can't be eaten right away.

Other than some float and they are too big to eat by small cory cats immediately, they do the job of making sure the cats have food to eat.

The jar is huge and was priced fairly. That is a bonus. If it expires ill take it to the lake when I fish and use it as chum. Bass, bluegill and chanel catfish will like it too.

My fish like these pellets. I put in a few at nighttime for my fish and my large large Placo. My bottom feeders especially like these, but I do see the other fish nibbling on them once in a while.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must have for bottom feeders
Reviewed in the United States on August 28, 2024
These pellets are a must have for any bottom feeders. They're great value for money compared to things like Pleco Wafers, etc. They turn nice and soft after about 15 minutes so even smaller fish can eat them. They can be a little messy, so make sure to not overfeed.
