5.0 out of 5 stars Performs as expected, unlike many deceiving fish tank heaters

Purchased 3 to replace my aqueon heaters that are advertised to heat to 78 degrees, but didn't go past 74 which is absurd.

I have 2 in both of my 22 gallon fish tanks, and a 3rd as a backup because that's how happy I was with this product. It sticks to whatever temperature you put, and my 22 gallon fish tank is 3 feet long so the fact that even the opposite corner of the fish tank was the exact same temperature as right next to the heater (with a 0.1 degree variance).

I highly recommend this product. Stop second guessing about quality like I was. It's hitting 30 degrees in my area, its cold in my house and it's still holding the temperature like nothing.

Works great in our 10 gallon. The dial knob at the top to adjust temperature can be a little tricky though. There is a 4 degree label gap between temps so you have to guess. Ex) 78-(gap)-82. So if you want 80 degrees, you adjust the dial in the middle of these two numbers. Not a big deal, but with me being new at fish keeping, I worried it wasn’t at perfect temperature. Other than that, it’s a good product!

This submersible fish tank heater is fantastic! It was easy to set up, keeps the temperature consistent, and the safety features like auto-shutoff give me peace of mind. My fish are more active and happy since I started using it. Sleek, quiet, and perfect for my aquarium—highly recommended!

4.0 out of 5 stars Simple, basic aquarium heater
Reviewed in the United States on December 17, 2024
I just needed a simple 2nd heater replacement when my external control one started going wonky on my 90 gal tank. This seems to fit the bill. Easy set up into tank with good suction cups, with an extra bracket and suction cup in box. Easy to read temp ranges on heater with easy to adjust top knob. Within a day got temp stabilized with minimal fine tuning. Only con is the short AC cord, which is a con on all heaters if placed in a tall or deep aquarium. We'll see about longevity but this one was reasonably priced compared to external control heaters.

Bought for 5 gallon tank. Heats it well to optimum temperature. However, should have probably bought smaller size, since takes a fair amount of space in tank that size.

arrived quickly , functions as advertised , the way you adjust the temperature is not the most accurate, so you will have to estimate and wait and see what direction you need to go to get it where you need it to be but after that it works great for small tank , also it need to be fully submerged , no part should be above water line , this is clear in instructions .

1.0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY - FIRE HAZARD - MELTED IN MY TANK - FISH ALL GONE
Reviewed in the United States on December 5, 2023
PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS! I just had a devastating loss in my tank because this thing decided it wanted to get hot and melt all all the plastic clips. It probably shocked my entire tank!
I just did a water change on my 10 gallon tank. I always shut down my heater, filter, and air bubblers. Once the water gets high enough to cover the heater, I start everything up again. Jesus, I had just put the last gallon of water in the tank and all I could see was smoke. I thought it was my light, but it was coming out of the water because everything was melting. I switched the main power button on my surge protector. My fish started flopping and sinking to the bottom. I had a net that I was able to catch a few tetra fish that were at the top. My shrimp darted to the top of the tank, then nose dived to the bottom and turned upside down.

I am so upset right now. I just lost 5 fish and a dozen shrimps. Probably will lose my assassin snails and two other tetra fish that I was able to get out of my tank. I have several pest snails that are now laying on their sides that will probably die. But those are not such a big deal. I spent nearly 6 months on this tank getting everything right. I just didn't have a heater, and opted for this one because of all the "Wonderful Reviews". Don't do it people.

I am adding photos, not of my fish that were loss.
