Great Horse Blanket!!!

Have been meaning to post this for a while - I've been super impressed with this blanket! Sorry the picture is not better - it is the only one I could find. I bought this for our horse, Gypsy, in Nov. 2021 to keep her warm and dry; she does not use a barn. We are in Snoqualmie, WA. She's about 15 hand high and I bought the 72" blanket. Good to follow the measuring instructions. This blanket was pretty easy to put on and it had good adjustments and stayed securely in place. She could even roll on the ground and get back up with everything staying put!!! On rare occasion a belly strap would come loose, but not a big deal. The material is wonderful! Sturdy, comfortable fabric that also provides an inner layer of warmth from the cold. Pretty good water resistance; did not ever find water 'soaking through' despite heavy rain and snow. Would absolutely recommend this product - I think Gypsy would too!!

Great fit, love the elastic on back legs ans easy clips. Just noticed the velcro at chest with clips and added detail. Warm quilted and looks great on my 24 yr old retired barrel horse. Highly recommended, very happy with purchase and it arrived quickly.

Very Happy with this winter blanket

This blanket (Tough 1 1200D Snuggit Turnout 200g) is high quality with so many ways to adjust for a good fit in the neck & chest area. I thought just by looking at it right out of the box it would be too long for my horse who is in his mid-twenties as well as comparing it side by side to his "too big" canvas blanket but it is a perfect fit. It has an extended neck feature which I really like. This morning after my horse's first night of wearing it looked like I had just put it on him - no slippage! even after he had rolled in it. The rain was beading up on the blanket so I hope to find him still dry underneath it later today. In the past I had always bought canvas duck blankets as my horse has pasture as well as stall access but now I'm sold on this 1200D type blanket in nice colors for an added bonus. UPDATE: While the temperature here in Texas so far has been in the upper 20's-lower 30's and windy this blanket has kept my horse warm and dry but not hot after he has had it on for 3 days & nights. We are very happy with the 'Tough 1' blanket!

Been using this blanket for a couple weeks, it’s holding up well. She’s been laying down at night and it’s holding up. Chose the medium weight since we don’t get snow and we don’t get a whole lot of freezing nights. Hasn’t rained yet so I can’t remark on that. I did spray the seams with scotch guard to help out. I cut a big part of the tail flap off so it doesn’t interfere with urination. Ordered the purple, love it. As of now I would recommend purchasing it.

I have this same blanket from a few years ago and needed another one and was impressed with the updated features. This is my go to blanket for any weather 35 and under (short hair no winter coat horses). It keeps them the perfect temp without ever making them too hot even when it warms up to 40. Never have had any damage to the blanket even with a mouthy 3 year old wearing it. The fit is perfect nice and long all around and wraps under the belly decently without getting tangled up. Only thing I wish was for more color options!

Tough 1 Horse Blankets are the BEST!

I absolutely recommend Tough 1 winter blankets for horses. I've been buying them for the past 9 years. I still have another one exactly like this one that's 4 years old and have zero rips or tears. I do take good care of them and my horses aren't destructive with their blankets! Still, they are top quality. As for warmth, I use this one on my 17.2 hand Thoroughbred (size 84) in 28 degree F weather. It's not too heavy or too light. Doesn't soak through when raining or snowing. Highly recommend!
