5.0 out of 5 stars Saved my Betta and I Still Have Plenty Left

I wish I had a before and after picture. My betta was in really rough shape; fin rot he had for weeks at the petstore, could barely swim, buoyancy issues. I thought he'd for sure die. I'm a college student currently so I only see my aquarium on the weekends. I tried a lot of different anti bacterial for fish and he only got worse. Bought Kanaplex and within the week his fins started to grow back, he gained weight and could swim, and he was a bright blue color. I cannot praise this product enough. Definitely worth the price and I still have plenty left over.

5.0 out of 5 stars Miracle Product
Reviewed in the United States on December 8, 2024
I honestly thought my betta was in his final days. He had popeye, couldn’t swim, couldn’t float, and his tail was looking rough as well. I was changing out his water very frequently but he was still bloated and ill.

Within two days of adding this product, he was energetic again, swimming all over, his popeye went down, and his fins finally stood again! I hadn’t seen him looking this good for months. This is honestly a miracle product. I really thought my little guy was done for, but I didn’t want to give up on him. I highly recommend keeping this on hand as a betta owner because you get so much medicine in the small tube and you will probably only need a few doses.

5.0 out of 5 stars Saved My Guppy Fry
Reviewed in the United States on April 8, 2016
Over 30 one-month-old guppy fry in one of my aquariums started developing needle-like tails. In the morning, I noticed one of my fry had died overnight and several of my fry looked lethargic at the water surface with one fry floating on his side and struggling to remain upright.

Now, while I'm no stranger to keeping freshwater fish, I just started keeping guppies a little over a year ago and this is the first time I've seen such a wide-spread infection with such a fast mortality rate. Admittedly, this tank in question was a bit overcrowded, since one of my female guppies gave birth a month ago with a surprisingly large batch of fry (for me at least). Since keeping guppies, finding spare tanks to keep each new batch of fry in has been a bit challenging. After testing the water for ammonia and finding close to 1ppm, I immediately separated four of the most lethargic fry into their own tank (since some of the more healthy-looking fry were trying to eat them) and spent the next two days performing large water changes.

The fry only got worse, now with almost all of the fry displaying pointed needle-like tail fins even though water quality had considerably improved with 0 ammonia and nitrite. And sadly, another two fry that I had separated the first day hadn't made it. I was now left with one really sick fry (in the separate tank) and 28 less-than-active fry who looked like they were only getting sicker.

A few weeks ago, I had purchased some Kanaplex to try for a just-in-case situation like this when time would be crucial. I had never used Kanaplex before, but I had lost some fish in the past because I wasn't able to get the medication quickly enough. I liked that this medication doesn't destroy the good beneficial bacteria in the filter bed, but I was very hesitant about using this in my fry tank because of how young and weak my fry were - I wasn't sure if they'd be able to handle medication. But I figured, they were already suffering and going to die if I just did nothing more than change the aquarium water, so I put some in and hoped for the best.

Two days later, I already started to see some improvement. My fry were swimming more actively and I noticed some of them were starting to spread out their fins more. The lone fry in the really sick tank still looked somewhat the same to me, though he wasn't flipped over and paralyzed like many of his brothers who had died were. He was still swimming around the surface, moving his fins, so I thought that was a good sign. The best news was that I had lost no more fry since treating both aquariums. I had thought I would soon have a massive fry death on my hands, so that alone was something to celebrate.

Following the instructions, I treated both tanks with the second dose of Kanaplex on the third day. Every day, the fry seemed to be doing better and better. Today on day 5, all 28 fry in the healthier tank are very active, eating as usual with fins fully expanded. Just looking at them, you would've never known they were sick! The lone fry in the separate tank is also doing very well. Just yesterday, he started eating for the first time since the infection. While his tail fin still looks somewhat pointy, the milky white film on it is nearly gone and it's no longer as clamped. I also noticed he's been spending less time on the surface and more time moving around the aquarium! Before I had little hope he'd make it and now I really do think he'll make a full recovery.

I just added the third and last dose to the tank. I'm really looking forward to adding the lone fry back into the tank with his brothers and sisters. I also bought a larger aquarium to house these fry once they get bigger. Very happy with the results I've received from Kanaplex.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Solution for Betta Fish Pop-Eye – Worked in Just One Week!
Reviewed in the United States on October 3, 2024
It worked very well! My 1 ½-year-old betta fish developed a large pop-eye on one side. My daughter and I googled for solutions to help our poor little betta, and then we found this. After trying it for a week, the big bubble-like pop-eye disappeared. We are so happy and glad we found this wonderful product! Thank you so much! If this happens again I'll be sure to use this product!

    4.0 out of 5 stars It's helping!

    Worthy option!
21-year-old aquarium fish developed pop-eye while his owner was out-of-town.
After multiple partial water changes, there was still no improvement. Even Melafix didn't help (and it usually works fairly well).
The owner then tried Kanaplex & the swelling has begun to reduce. It's too soon to tell if it can fully remedy the issue, but it looks promising. The fish has already exceeded the lifespan in captivity for its species, so recovery is probably still iffy.
The pleco doesn't seem to notice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fixed my guppy's health!

I have a lot of guppies and Three of them had severely ripped tails. They were also very weak and had trouble swimming. I move them into an emergency tank and dosed the kanaplex accordingly. Sadly, one did pass, but it was already heading in that direction. The other two were looking super weak but after the first day they perked up tremendously. I would recommend If you need to dose your fish with meds!

5.0 out of 5 stars Betta's fin rot improving
Reviewed in the United States on October 2, 2024
My betta was showing signs of fin rot that was progressively getting worse despite the tank being crystal clear and having done regular water changes so I decided to give this stuff a try. I added the first dose to the tank yesterday and already my betta is looking better. He has lots of energy and his fins aren't looking nearly as ragged as before, they look like they're healing.

Had hoped it would work for my betta's apparent swim bladder problem. Followed the directions exactly. Didn't see much improvement. Trying frozen peas since other betta owners have seen success with that.
