5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely ...Ahhhhmazing!

If you are debating on whether to get this or not for your furry kids, let us help you and say... try it!

It is the BEST thing ever. Our baby has been getting his nails professionally done for 12 years. When he was 2 yrs old I accidentally clipped too much of one nail and he bled, I was devastated that I hurt him. Ever since then, I have been traumatized to clip his nails myself. Perhaps this has happened to some of you parents out there too!

So, we have now moved to a different state and have had the hardest time finding a truly loving & caring Manicurist for his "mani & pedi". It's been ridiculous! After watching our regular Manicurist for many years, I said, "You know what! I am going to get an electric nail trimmer and try it! What's there to lose?!".

Received it, and I have to say, I was super intimidated by the whole thing, the noise, the speed, how to hold it, angle it, etc.. I was nervous when first trying it. I followed the tips, let my baby smell it, turn it on for him to hear the noise and get used to it (he is very cool noises already), I pretended to trim his nails by touching them with the side that didn't have the trimmer going and say "Perfect! Good boy!" ... He was very cool about it, I am sure I was the only one that was nervous.

I started with one nail as my heart raced and left it on for a few seconds, took it away and said, "Everything is okay, I can do this!" I went in again on the other side of the nail, I did this to a few nails, took a few breaths between to stay calm and honestly, it took me a few minutes to get the hang of it, but once I did, it was FABULOUS!

I promise, once you do get the hang of it, of how to hold it, angle it, how much it trims and how fast it grinds, the noise, the smell, and how your touch affects it, you become more confident and it becomes very easy.
By the time I was on his 4th paw, I was rocking it, my angling was wonderful and his nails were looking wonderful! I did every nail little by little, I even went back once I felt more comfortable, I did them all a few times to get them as short as possible. I keep the protector on it and use it that way to this day and on the lowest speed, I only keep it on each nail a few seconds at a time, it grinds fast, which I can control by checking every few seconds and I am no longer scared to trim his nails myself! I was so happy and felt so thankful that I gave it a try!

We couldn't be any more happier. Not only can I trim his nails at anytime I want, wherever I want, but it is also saving us $15 usd, each time I do! :-)

The device itself is very nice and so far seems very durable. It's fantastic that you can charge it and easy to clean. I do recommend that you clip any little hairs your baby has prior to using it that may go over his nails so that you do not hurt them!

Mommy is now his (VERY loving & caring) personal Manicurist for ever!! :)
    *****5 million stars, highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding = gentle and quiet

Elder small dog. Papillion. Nail trims - brutal since we got him as a pup. One back toe was deformed and might have triggered his fear. With this tool, he is now calm and relaxed, after first being introduced and having his front nails briefly trimmed as a test [with treat rewards]. He no longer whines, growls, and cowers. Huge improvement. No more trauma at the vet. Glad to offer a positive review!!

4.0 out of 5 stars It's nice but it's not quiet

This nail grinder is very nice. I feel it was misleading in the description though because it's not quiet. I have a dog that is afraid of grinders and I was hopeful this would work out but it's just like the others. If you need a grinder and don't have a dog that's afraid, I'd highly recommend this one. It's easy to hold and great quality and easy to use

5.0 out of 5 stars Painless and Easy Nail Care for My Pup!

The Casfuy Dog Nail Grinder has been a game-changer for grooming my dog at home. My Lab usually hates nail trims, but this grinder is quiet and gentle, making the process stress-free for both of us. The two-speed settings are perfect for tackling thicker nails, and the safety guard prevents me from over-grinding. It’s lightweight, rechargeable, and easy to handle—plus, the battery lasts a long time. If you want a safer, painless alternative to clippers, this is it. Highly recommended for pet owners who want to keep their furry friends comfortable and happy!

It works pretty well! Basically it’s nice to introduce it to your dog prior to doing anything so that it’s not such a big deal when you actually turn it on because it is so quiet. Definitely a good purchase. It’s too bad that it won’t grind faster, but it’s understandable that it’s a More gentle nail file. Definitely would recommend.

3.0 out of 5 stars WARNING** Long-haired owners tie back hair/loose articles before use. DONT USE ON LONG HAIRED PETS.
Reviewed in the United States on September 23, 2023
I gave this product three stars. The reason being is because the product does file pets nails relatively less stressfully, as when a dog nail clippers are in use- if done safely and properly. The product does seem to be of relatively good quality/materials.

That being said, my concern lies in the fact that there are virtually zero safety precautions for material or hair entanglement regarding the presence of any automatic shut off when increased resistance is met. Most other products with rotating components (I.e. handheld fans, vacuum cleaners) can detect if a snag is detected at which point the motor stops spinning and shuts off until the device is cleared of snags and restarted.

In this situation, a single strand of my hair came in contact with rotating end of the dog nail grinder, and it started twisting until an entire chunk of my hair became fully entangled, which happened over the course of approximately 1-2 seconds.
The device continued spinning and spinning and I could not get the sliding on/off switch to slide off because the device continue to spin in my hand. The device was very hot, almost smoking, because of the amount of hair entangling, but it did not turn off.

This had me greatly concerned, not just for myself, but for my dog.

Because my dog is a long-haired mixed breed (Bernedoodle, or Poodle and Bernese Mountain Dog mix), her hair could easily become stuck in the twisting mechanism. Especially because she is also a large breed, meaning we cannot use the included plastic nail guard due to the size and shape of her nails. At which point, this would be much a more painful and traumatizing experience than just using a regular nail clipper, and I do not want to traumatize her… or myself.

I feel like if the rotary mechanism senses a snag or a tangle in the rotating bit, it should have a safety feature that automatically shuts it off so that people and/or their pets do not have hair (or other loose articles) incidentally damaged, burned, ripped out, or removed.

The reason I gave 3 stars instead of 1 is because I understand that this issue is partially my fault and in the future, I would tie my hair back fully if I were to use it again. Also it’s not an entirely useless product, but can only be safely used (in my opinion) on smaller, shorter haired breeds.
With that being said, I am glad this happened to me rather than my pet because I was able to easily cut the affected strands of my hair that were burned and frayed off and am physically unharmed, although my hair does look very strange now since this large strand was in the very front. Regardless, I take some responsibility for the incident, however, I don’t want my situation to happen to any long haired pets in the future and hope the company makes some safety adjustments to the product.

One thing that could significantly improve safety would be to include an overall larger grinding bit that also includes a larger plastic safety guard with a bigger opening for large breed dogs, so that their nails can be filed safely with decreased risk for tangling, ripping, tugging, etc.
As mentioned, I was not able to use the provided guard that comes with the product because my dogs nails are simply too wide/thick to keep the guard on. If you have a small pet with thinner nails, the guard would likely better protect you/your pet or reduce the risk of entanglement by probably 90%.

In conclusion, I will likely not use this on my long haired dogs, but I would be willing to try the product again on my short haired, smaller dog (Boston terrier) because the risk for entanglement is minimal to none (for the pet), and I can use the file guard that is included with the product. Of course, my hair will be tied back next time…

I hope this helps someone make a more informed decision on purchasing this product.
