5.0 out of 5 stars Great dog puzzle!

This is my dog's favorite puzzle. Even after over a month, she still finds it challenging and fun. It is super durable! She's a German Shepherd and has yet to break it! She even has the habit of just pulling the lids off with her teeth to get the treat, and they snap right back on! Some puzzles are way too easy and boring for her, and some are much too hard and frustrating (she will pick them and just shake it until the treats fall out, lol). This one is JUST RIGHT! Love it and so does she!

I wanted something that would challenge my dog and also mentally engage him. I had gotten this for my previous dog years ago and knew this was just the thing I was looking for! I love that it has different stages and teaches him to try different things. I use freeze dried treats and they can be placed under the removable bones, in the red flip panels and then also underneath the slide able red panels as well. Like I said, they're kinda like levels, so I start him without the bones using the flip panels. Once he gets the hang of that, I put the removable bones in and then move onto under the slide able red panels. He has gotten really good at it and is getting quicker with time. I use this as a fun activity to break up traditional training. I like that each of the elements have small holes in them so that he can figure out where the treats are. In the past, my old black lab would get frustrated and chew on the removable pieces (the white bones and the flippable red panels as well) so be careful of that if you have chewers and definitely don't leave your pup unsupervised while in use! These are easy easy to clean as they are well made plastic pieces. Overall, I love this and will definitely be getting the level 2 one soon!

I absolutely love all of these puzzle toys that this company makes! They have kept my three month old puppy busy and out of trouble when she’s working on them. And they give me an opportunity to get other things done without having to watch her all the time to make sure that she doesn’t get into mischief. And I do believe that it satisfies her mental need for stimulation and things to do… She gets bored easily with other toys and these keep her focused the longest.

I will say that different puzzles will probably appeal to different dogs. I started her at level one when she was about nine weeks old and she mastered it in no time …she has now mastered the level four puzzle. And she’s not even four months yet! To be honest… She’s too smart for her own good.
So I would love to see more challenging puzzles at the higher levels of three and four, especially with different skills required. Some of the puzzles are very similar to each other so they’re not that hard for her to learn (which makes me not want to buy them because they’re too similar.)

This particular puzzle has some room for improvement. See the video. I hope that the company might consider a redesign to make it better. But, regardless, my puppy still enjoys playing with it, even if she is cheating!

Having said that, overall, the puzzles from this company are a lifesaver for me. I also really enjoy doing them with her - it’s a great bonding experience and fun to watch her learn and grow. Thank you!

My 40 pound lab mix is smarter than any dog I've ever had and is prone to boredom and restlessness. She's also a teenager, so she's got endless energy. I wanted to get her some puzzle toys but wanted to start basic, no levers or switches or multi-step. This seemed like a good option since balls are one of her favorite toys, and rolling it around seemed simple enough. Sure enough, all I had to do was fill the toy, set it on the floor, and roll it once before she realized this magical contraption dispenses yummy nuggets of deliciousness, gee thanks, ma!

Kibble (or small treats) must be loaded through the two small holes in the ball. The ball does NOT come apart. Keep this in mind for larger kibbles, and for cleaning purposes. I just submerge it in hot soapy water and shake it around, then rinse it a few times until no soap remains. I knew this ahead of time by reading other reviews so it didn't catch me by surprise. I could have probably found a similar toy that did come apart, but since I'd never tried a puzzle feeder before, I wanted to go with this cost-friendly option.

We're excited to try new puzzles when she gets bored of this one, but so far she still likes it!

My dog loves this and can get the treats out in maybe 5 minutes or less. Yes the red doors do come off but they're made to come off so they don't break, which is a great design for a dog toy!
