About this item

BASIC NECESSITY FOR AQUARISTS: As aquarists and fish-keeping hobbyists know, it’s always good to have extra airline tubing on hand. Our Standard 3/16” Airline Tubing offers a great solution for various aquarium airline needs, such as connecting an air pump to an air stone, an under-gravel filter, or an aquarium ornament.
CLEAR, FLEXIBLE, AND DURABLE: Made from clear, flexible plastic, our Standard Airline Tubing is built to withstand wear and tear. The tubing’s flexibility makes it a breeze to work with. In addition to being resistant to kinking, it’s ultra-durable and should not crack or become brittle. For better connection to aquarium accessories, soak both ends in warm water for 30 seconds.
SAFE FOR FISH: Our Standard Airline Tubing is made of fish-safe plastic, and can be used for both freshwater and saltwater tanks.
MEASUREMENTS: Length = 8’ / Inner Diameter = 4 mm / Outer Diameter 5.8 mm.

I've dealt with small plastic tubing in the past where the entry point of the tub seems way too small to fit the nozzle/nipple end of an air stone or pump, so is the case with this tubing…

There's a reason that the tubings entry point is so tight… The reason being that the tubing is plastic/small for a better fit and fewer leaks...

Your standard deluxe silicon tubing is wider for easy fitting, but eventually it starts leaking water because it won't stop stretching... I should know, that's why I purchased this plastic tubing as a replacement…

So... to fix the issue with the tubing being so small/tight because it's plastic, and to help others having issues installing, I'll give you step-by-step instructions/plus a video attached:

Note: Make sure you're tubing and the nozzle/nipple of your air stone or air pump/sponge bio filter, is completely dry for easy fitting/installation:

1) Pinch an inch right above the tip of the tubing.

2) While the tubing is still being pinched above the tip of the tub, start pushing it onto the nozzle/nipple end of your air stone or air pump. Pinch and push/pinch and push.

3) Stop pinching the tubing at this point.

4) Now, turn the tubing from left/right while pushing down on the nozzle/nipple for a tighter fit…

That's it, you're done...

Great thick tubing by the way....

I recommend this product for its length/affordability/tightness…

Easy to use. Have used it for over a year, lines are still clear, still flexible and pliable, no yellowing. Would buy again.

Clear, flexible, high quality, tube. Works for all tube/hose needs, about 1/4 and easy to figure out. It's a tube man c'mon.

Easy to use with my air pump. Only reason it’s not 5 stars is it’s popped off of my air pump a couple times. Maybe I didn’t put it on well enough but it’s happened maybe three times since my time of purchase. However not a big deal and i’d still recommend purchasing

3.0 out of 5 stars Stiff
Reviewed in the United States on April 21, 2024
It works, but it is very stiff. Not like the more flexible air lines. This is just a standard plastic line. Nothing special. After being in the water for less than a month, it's hard as a rock.
