This stuff works VERY well. Our little boy was getting eaten alive outdoors. I don't know what happened here in NY but the gnat population tripled if not higher. His belly, armpits, legs and butt were covered in bite marks so bad so we had to take him to the vet because I was concerned it was a rash. They advised a bug spray, I went shopping!
We had him on benedryl for a couple of days while the bites were healing and put some A&D cream over the old bites and sprayed him down. By day 7 we have no more new bites and all old ones are gone. Happy Mom and Happy boy.
It says you only have to apply every 9 days BUT the gnats were so bad here we had to do him every day. We were prepared for that though from reading some other reviews. I think when my traps start to decrease the population a tad will be able to back off with the daily spray.
Be sure you spray your pet outdoors away from all windows/doors because my gosh that scent carries and lasts for a LONG time. It isn't a bad smell, in fact it is quite pleasant but overwhelming on first spray. Apart from hating being sprayed down he has had no adverse reactions to it and NO more gnat bites and for that I am very grateful as they can be very painful and leave awful scars.
