Bought these for my pony, ordered the pony size. Well they are huge, so I ended up giving them to a little girl at the barn for her horse. They are durable and holding up well for him. Easy to put on and off. They do their job and seem to be worth the money for her.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than the original brand!

I have used the original brand of this type of fly boot for the last couple of years. I needed new ones but they are so expensive, I decided to try a couple of cheaper brands. These boots are excellent! They are every bit as good as the originals for half the price. The only difference is they have velcro tabs rather than the velcro strip on the originals. I much prefer the tabs as they give a better fit and the velcro on these is extremely strong. I'm so pleased with them, I have just ordered another set.

I’m very impressed. I purchased these for my young horse because I didn’t want her to destroy a really expensive pair of fly boots. Truth be told these are just as good as the $50 ones. I’m very happy with them they have held up really well so far

Purchased on the 31st of July and already falling apart by mid September. Ribs in the sides failed even earlier and they bunched up on the pastern not really protecting the legs well. Only thing that held up is the Velcro.

3.0 out of 5 stars Average Durability with a design flaw

It's been a horrible summer with aggressive/biting flies. I already went through a pair of the name brand version that is more expensive in 4 months, so I decided to try a couple of these more cost effective versions. I put these only 16.3H OTTB that can be very hard on gear. He wore out the name brands in 4 months. Here is what I'm finding:

1. The closure design is different using 4 tabs, instead of a vertical closure. You absolutely have to make sure you get the bottom secured with a loose snug or else it will slide down.
2. They stay on well so the velcro works decently. I pull them off 6 days a week for schooling the horse. The one he destroyed in 2 weeks is pictured. It slid down but he was still wearing it and walking on it.
3. People report the support inserts poking through. On the other 3, I'm still not seeing this issue after 4 weeks.
4. Design flaw - all of the tabs point the same direction, so there isn't a difference between left and right. The velcro tabs point forward on the right front and hind leg. Any horse person knows the horse is more likely to snag if it setup like this and sure enough, the one that slid down. This is why I give it only 3 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good fly boots

These fly boots are great. First of all they stay on even when horse is outside. Second they come in sizes so they fit better. They wash easily. They also keep the flies away from horse’s legs without being tight. Happy user. Horse is happy too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Large is too big for my 15.2 paint.
Reviewed in the United States on May 21, 2024
I ordered the large for my 15.2 paint. The bottom opening is what keeps the fly boot on the leg, and the diameter of the large is too big for him. Other than that, quality seems good, about the same as Shoofly which are twice as much money.
