My golden is even afraid of car doors slamming after being traumatized by thoughtless neighbors with fireworks when he was a 1 yr old puppy. He's 3 now and he shakes, drools & cries and thunderstorms and fireworks are AGONY for him and us. Drugs don't work and when I saw the video with this product, I thought "yeah, RIGHT!". The first day was a bit of a struggle, but now he comes to me with a pleading look in his eyes so I'll put it on him when he hears a storm coming or at the first sign of fireworks. Then he's relaxed enough to nap like in the pic. Just make sure the ears are folded down and not pulled back. I bought 2 because he also scratched a hole in his neck when we were away and someone shot off a bunch of fireworks. So I also use it for a bandage holder with an elastic bandage taped over it to hold it in place. It's soft and thick but does snag with his claws scratching. As for value, what price is peace worth?

We purchased X-large for our 100 lb Lab/Rottie mix and Large for our 60 lb Husky-mix. These sizes fit them perfectly! Instead of trembling, panting and drooling, our furry friends were calm and appeared comforted by the hoodies.

It's a great idea and I'm sure it helps so many out there. Unfortunately my pup likes to rub their ear on the floor or bed. Once good rub and this slips off. It's good quality and overall seems durable.

This is the 1st time on him . It seems to work cuz he shakes when it’s thundering or fireworks. Louie is 122 pds and XL fit perfect, it’s not coming off , it fit nicely. Good value for the money. Soft . This is my go too thunder hat . He also has the thunder shirt too . Both give him Comfort and peace.

Edit: we had a thunderstorm and he still was scared while wearing it. Now that I've had it on him a few times I see that it's too snug on him. He needs the next size up. But, since it didn't work for him in terms of noise I'm returning.

Right now I'm giving it 4
stars since my dog doesn't like it and no way to test it. I really needed it for the 4th since I'm close to Sea World and they do a fireworks show. I'm going to put it on him every day so he'll get used to it within the 30 day return period. It does fit him perfect. I measured his head as directed. I don't think it's worth $10. I think you will have to hand wash and dry flat. No machines for this! Will try to remember to update review if I keep and it helps his noise anxiety!

I have three little dogs all under 10 lbs. I purchased three of the XS. Whenever there are fireworks or thunderstorms, they are nervous messes! I saw a great review for this product and decided to try it for the week of the 4th of July.
WOW! We put it on our Yorkie and she was snoring within a couple of minutes! For the entire night!!! Unfortunately, it didn't work on our smallest dog (Chihuahua/Mini Poodle). He is only 7 lbs. and has a fractured lower jaw, so he was not comfortable, but I am SO impressed that two of them we completely calm.

My dog has chronic ear infections, and has had 2 hematomas, one on each ear.
He is a semi-large pit-dane (70-80 lbs).
He was an ear flapper before hematomas, and remains one after. So, in order for him to not blow out his ears I got this to help hold them down.
So a couple of things to note:
1) They will still flap, and some MIGHT try and paw at it, so pay attention to your pet. Flapping with this one, nothing will move if they don't paw at it incessantly. Its decently tight, and offers ear support.
2) It is soft and stretchy, so easy to get around most dog heads, its almost like a head-sock in that way.
3) Most important one to me: If your dog CURRENTLY has an ear infection, or has had surgery... you WILL need to CLEAN REGULARLY. This device will not dry the inside of your dog's ears, so covering it up will keep it icky if left with moisture.
If its gunky-infection it may be difficult to use this. It will get crusted up easily and youll have to wash it. If you leave it in too long the crush will make it stick to their fur and make it gross as well as uncomfortable to remove later.
I would recommend some supervised Air-Dry time several times a day, or a cone instead if its a recent surgery or gunky ear infection.

Now, if your dog does NOT get ear infections, and just is a flapper/ear scratcher this would probably work very well without much worry. Just clean ears regularly, wash this when it gets covered in hair or dander to prevent likelihood of creating an infection using it.

I wouldnt say they are noise cancelling, though maybe noise dampening. Some dogs might find relief from it, some might find discomfort. Depends on the dog.

I can see the use from this product, but it did not work for my purposes unfortunately. No fault of the product I feel, It just did not fit my needs. Just think about it a minute, and be willing to take a loss if its not for your dog.
