4.0 out of 5 stars Good value when you consider the options.

I like it but I'm in no great hurry to use it. It covers the basics and should be more than enough to get you through a tough situation.
I've completed enough so far that my wife will know what to do with my aged carcass when the time comes. You can do a lot with this and it walks you through it step by step.
Provide for your loved one's and if you have no one else it's a done deal.
Just make sure that it's an acceptable product in your state of residence. Cross all your T's and dot all your I's. And then ............................. you'll never know will you? (why should you care?) Un;less you have a clan of vultures this should do the trick.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quit procrastinating! This is painless and to the point.

After much procrastination, I finally decided to make my will. Initially I consulted local attorneys, but the ludicrous fees had me running the opposite direction. I researched creating a will online and was pleased to come across this particular (and legitimate) software program. For under $40, my entire family was able to create an estate plan including a Will, Health Care Directive, Durable power of attorney, etc.

-Installation was a breeze even on my older laptop.
-I particularly liked the easy self-paced, step-by-step interview style questioning. It was far less intimidating than I'd expected.
-Documents are easy to save and edit.

Quicken WillMaker Plus 2014 was perfect for me and enabled me to create all the legal documentation I needed. All of this without incurring crazy legal fees and more importantly, saving time. Of course this may not be the best for individuals with large or more complex estates, but I find it worked just fine for my simple needs.

1.0 out of 5 stars Stay Away from Willmaker Plus or any other NOLO product!!!!
Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2013
I ordered the boxed CD and loaded it on my Windows 7 computer. I did the online registration and updated as requested. When I went to reopen the program to work on my will it would not let me open it. I get the error message “Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item”. I changed my user permissions to give “standard users” full permissions for the file and folders but that still did nothing. I tried to right click and open as administrator but that resulted in the same error message. I uninstalled the program and reinstalled…still no luck. The only way to open this file is to log in as the administrator each time you want to work on your will. This is unacceptable to me and likely most people that have Windows 7 computers with user accounts. I tried to contact NOLO but there is no number or online help available anywhere on their site that I could find. The only way to get online help is to send them and email. I sent them an email and got no response. It is hard to believe that a company that sells software does not provide a contact number or online chat for technical support. I do most of my shopping online and often leave reviews as I appreciate those same reviews when I go to make my purchases. Of all the reviews I have ever left, this is only the second time I have left a negative one….and then it was still 3 stars. This product and this company is to be avoided until they offer better support.

I had worked with three other products over time which make it easy to apportion my assets by percentage among my nieces and nephews. This Quicken product makes it virtually impossible, and certainly not with the assistance of keeping track of what total percentage has been committed up to that point in the list. THere seems to be no place to do anything other than give a specific asset, which is not realistic given the fluctuating market value of investments. If I have missed these options, it is because the help funtion did not help. No thanks. I wish I could get my money back and I would NEVER recommend this to anyone, friend or foe.

Very easy to use though many of the questions were redundant and confusing. Not everything carries through. It has different files i.e.: your will, your living will, your advance directive, your durable power for finance, your durable power for medical decisions.
They didn't plug into each other and I was afraid I was changing my answer between the different files.
I hope my kids can figure it all out.

The program worked very well, but there was a little difficulty with the residual estate designations in the will interview when trying to divide up residue per stirpes between a large number of siblings with children when some of the siblings were already deceased. In the end, we saved the WillMaker copy in RTF format and edited that portion (easy to do but not recommended if the writer does not have a legal background or some experience with wills). Instructions were very clear and quite complete, and the program loaded quickly and easily in Windows 7. Once entered, names and addresses were remembered, which sped construction of the other papers, such as Power of Attorney and health care directives.

5.0 out of 5 stars The software made it easy to prepare simple wills
Reviewed in the United States on November 17, 2014
My husband was having surgery so we needed to get our affairs in order quickly. The software made it easy to prepare simple wills, advanced care directives, and Power of Attorney for my husband and me. The only problem we had was finding someone to notarize the documents. The Bank wouldn't do it and an attorney won't do it so we had to go to the Records department at our local County offices for notary. It only cost $5 to notarize all of the documents so it was cheap, cheerful, and legal. A great alternative for those of us who don't have a lot of time and/or money to spend to get our affairs in order.
