Powere Director 2025

This is a very powerful video editor that works without having to risk tieing my main computer to the internet. Very intuitive user interface. Multi-Camera feature works but needs improvements. Rendering of video after finishing editing video is fast. Burning of disks can only be done immediately after rendering. Even though Video directories and ISO files are generated. Retail pricing is very reasonable.

Stupidest Activation Process Ever

The box you receive just contains the activation code and a quick start guide. You're then instructed to go to the CyberLink website, download the software, and type in the activation code. Fair enough. But then CyberLink throws in the wrinkle that you first have to have an account on their website before you're allowed to do any of that. And to get an account, you must follow the instructions that they send to your email address.

Only the instructions never come, no matter how many times you click "Resend verification email". And their "customer support" never gets back to you. I tried three different email accounts on three separate domains, and none of them received the elusive email. So now I'm sitting here with $140 worth of software that I can't use because I can't activate it.

ADDENDUM: CyberLink customer support finally replied to my customer service ticket on their website, and I was able to download the software and activate it without ever receiving their account verification email. Which raises the question of why it was ever required in the first place. I've upped my rating from one star to four because the software itself seems to work well and is easy to use if you've done any video editing previously.

Nice upgrade from PowerDirector 17

Been using PD 17 for a long time now (2018) and it finally stopped working with all the win 11 updates. So found this deal on Amazon and grabbed it and so far it is working pretty well. No major UI changes so all the tools are still easy to find and use but it does feel a bit faster when encoding/exporting the finished video. So far, so good. It's probably the best blend of ease of use for simple stuff and advanced tools for those that want more. Price point is higher than other stuff but certainly not as expensive as the big dog editors out there.

Activation is a pain

You are just buying a code. I don't see why they can't just send that over an email instead waiting for a piece of cardboard. The activation was a pain, half the numbers/letters look like a different number or letter so it won't recognized what your imputing. I had to email customer service and wait for their response when I needed to use this product promptly

Easy to Use, Great Features and Includes Excellent Screen Capture Utility

I have used mostly open source editors for the past few years. Those were acceptable. But, they were often difficult to use and buggy. I really am not a fan of "subscription" utilities, which seems to be a growing trend these days. I prefer to buy once and own my software. When you do that it is a pay once, use forever deal. Also, normally, the program is installed locally and doesn't require internet access to use. I have had issues with some of the subscription services when traveling abroad.

The CyberLink PowerDirector 2025 Ultimate looked to be well developed and feature rich. I must say, I was not disappointed. It was very easy to cut, splice, shorten and preview my videos. I found it very intuitive. I also found a number of videos on YouTube which answered any questions I had as to how to do this or that.

This package also includes an excellent screen capture utility. I used it to extract high quality video segments from online news feeds to be used in some social media posts. I also found it very useful to record instructional videos showing screen actions. I could load these and then add narration later. I plan to use this to edit some longer home videos I have. I think it will be vastly superior to the programs I have been using.

I am quite pleased thus far. It's a great program and a reasonable value as compared to other similarly capable software. I did not encounter any features or tasks which were buggy or tedious to use. It's deserving of five stars.

A good upgrade for PD2021, I like the AI functions

I've been using Power Director since 2020 as a casual editor and even though I don't use most of the powerful tools like masking I still enjoy how easy it has become to get small projects going without having to deal with a long and steep learning curve like Davinci Resolve or Blender.
My most used feature is motion tracking and it got even better with this release. I tried using the AI face blur effect and it worked well, it was very easy to get going, I had a reliable edit within seconds of telling it what I needed.
The ultimate package comes with most transitions, effects and overlays anyone would need to get started quickly. Most effects look like they would be great for upgrading one's TikTok game, they're bubbly eye candy which most people seem to like these days.
Project export works faster somehow which is always a welcomed improvement. I'm still using my old 1080 from Asus as my workhorse and it's still fast enough for my mostly 1080p projects.
As a novice I had fun playing with this and got creative with some personal videos. I hope I get more free time to test it out and get better at it.

There is nothing in the box no instructions really and no product. It’s just the download code so it could’ve been a much smaller box. The program is extremely full featured and has a couple of really handy modern features like AI voices.

I gotta be honest it’s gonna take a very long time before I get past the learning curve where I can really evaluate the software, but it is clearly a professional grade suite And it will only go up. I’m pretty sure possibly five stars as I learn to use it. A Foley featured video suite you can’t really beat the price. This does a lot of things the free ones do not.
