    This is my sixth year using H&R Block Deluxe + State. It has given me good results in the past and I expect the same this year. Installation went smoothly on my aging Windows 10 laptop. I just followed the instructions in the email I received from Amazon. The download was quick enough. During the install, the InstallShield process had to think about my system for several minutes, but then it proceeded briskly and completed the installation. After the setup, I configured my folders as I prefer, ran the program and completed the activation. There is not much more I can do until I receive my 1099's and other assorted paperwork. I feel confident the H&R Block program will fully meet my needs this year.

    Price ($30 when on sales) is decent... Software is OK (same as previous years) and I have been using it since 1990's under TaxCut. Download is cumbersome compared to the past years. Install and import 8 profiles from last year... Just wait till Feb-Mar to enter more data and to file. BTW, I just bought another copy like this one (Dec 29., $25 @ newegg), because I have 8 people's income taxes... Each copy can do only 5 efiling... Tax is tax and if you know how to do manually, you can use any software to speed it up...

    This is my 8th year using Deluxe+State. I always buy the Black Friday sale. The first year took a lot of patience to get used to the software, but now it's a breeze. It's got a consistent format from year to year. I've always had to pay the extra $19.99 to e-file my state form; that's also been consistent.

    A lot of the reviews at this point are about the download. My download on a Win11 PC was fast and fairly easy. Here's how it works:
    --You can either go to your Amazon software library (there's a direct link in the order under Your Orders) or just look at the email Amazon will send you almost immediately after you order. Both the library and the email show your activation code and the URL from which to make the download. The download is made from a specific HR Block web address. The download does not come from Amazon.
    --Go to the web address, enter the code, and enter your registration info (first, last, address, city, state, zip, email). You have to enter something in each of those boxes or else you can't get to the download.
    --I got two different error messages because for whatever reason the code wasn't going through, but on the third time I re-entered it, I got through. When entering the code, just enter the alphanumerics. Don't enter the dash in the middle of the code. The website will automatically insert the dash.
    --Select whether it's for PC or Mac.
    --The download is an exe file. You can also make a backup copy of it to save to your cloud or usb storage.
    --The rest, for me, was to just let my PC do the install. I had no problems. However, my PC has no added-on security software. Not sure how it works if you have something like that on your pc.

    Initially got a download error when following the hrblock link on Chrome (older PC running Windows 10). Opened a new incognito window in Chrome, typed the url again, and it immediately loaded. I entered required info and had no issues with the download.

    Worked great last year so bought again this year. Only problem i had was i couldn't get it to do an amended return but that could have been my fault. Label says federal and state but you can't file a state return without an extra fee. Same with turbo tax but you can print your stare return and mail it in which is inconvenient and slow plus the print can be small and hard to read. And it would take longer to get a refund.

    Got a Black Friday deal on this, $29.99 less a $3 promotion, score! Amazon immediately sent an activation code. Using that I was able to easily download and install the software on my iMac and used the code to register the product with H&R Block. No issues at all. Software works well, been using H&R Block for years now. Buying direct from H&R Block would have run closer to $70.
