This year's version had a programming error that kept you running in a loop. There was also not a way to provide immediate feedback, but I found a way around the problem and carried on. Otherwise it was the normal TurboTax. I have never been audited using TurboTax, and I buy it every year. Certainly better than doing it by hand with the instruction booklet, which used to take eons.

No problem downloading or installing. During the install I did get "error 2803" which said it couldn't continue the install. I clicked OK and it continued and successfully installed. This is on a Windows 10 machine. I had to restart the system then the program ran fine.

HOWEVER it did not update automatically as it would in previous years. You have to manually install the updates.

Best price I could find so worth the minor inconveniences.

We have been using TurboTax online to file taxes for 7 years in a row and is a loyal customer. For this year we have opted to buy the download version as we saw the product on sale during Black Friday on Amazon. What a big mistake. When I tried to start file my taxes, I quickly found that the download version of TurboTax is nothing like the online version, the UI (user interface) is poor, and the features are also not intuitive. It also does not allow me to port past year's return from TurboTax online to download version (at least the instructions did not clearly inform me so). The software version also lacks a lot of features that the online version has. The overall step by step experience is also very bare bone and just bad comparing to the online version. I was shocked at the drastic quality difference between the two.

To make matters worse, I tried to reach out to TurboTax to request a refund under their 60 days money back warranty, but due to technical difficulty I was unable to submit the online refund form until 2 days past the 60 days deadline. You would think that TurboTax would try to make things right for a long time loyal customer, especially considering that I am just trying to get a refund so I can PAY THEM AGAIN and use the online version. WRONG. I tried to contact TurboTax customer support more than 6 times, and during each call is treated by a robot with poor speech recognition that repeatedly ask and provide me useless information. The robot even hanged up on me 3 times when she thought she resolved the issue which she couldn't be more wrong. TurboTax's automatic system is so bad it makes me appreciate my Alexa just THAT MUCH MORE.

Once I was finally connected with a customer service rep, no one seems to have a clue on how to help me. It seems that each of them are equally as clueless as me, who scrambled to look up help pages for guidance that I already know. During this process, I was constantly being put on hold for more than 30 minutes wait each time and giving the run around. After I tirelessly followed up on this issue, one of the customer service rep was finally able to reach the refund team, which just quickly dismissed me and said that my refund request was denied because I was two days over the policy cut off, without giving me a chance to even talk to them to say anything. The team even blamed me and said they have sent me an email which I have never got, not even in the spam folder. This left me no choice but to reach out to Amazon for guidance. Fortunately Amazon customer service has stepped up to make things right for us. Shame on you TurboTax for treating you long time loyal customers so poorly. The whole experience really left a sour taste in my mouth.

I typically am not the type that leaves reviews often. But in this case I am compelled to share my experience and truly hope that I can help other Amazon customers (especially ones that have been using the online version) to stay away from this garbage product so they do not have to go through the same painful experience as me.

I have been using TurboTax since 1985 or so, I think. Anyway over 35 years. I have never had an issue with IRS on filing. I usually use the Premier version as I have had rentals and investments, and related expenses in the past. Simpler now that I am retired, and have dissolved some of these assets. I feel TurboTax always gets me the largest refund. I continually updated. Easy to sue and understand. I truly love TurboTax and have no problems recommending the program.
