I got this for my 8 year old son to use during the summer before 3rd grade. I figured it might be a little hard but was hoping that with the different levels it would be challenging but not too frustrating for him. It's been great. I admit, it doesn't have the cool graphics or interactive interface that the jumpstart worlds have, but my son loves it and it's been really great practice in all areas. I had to help him learn some of the math concepts (how to simplify fractions, rules for rounding large numbers, etc.) but now he's doing it all on his own. The geography section is pretty hard too, and it would be awesome if there was something they could click on for a hint, but with a little patience he's been learning lots of cool facts and is learning great geography. Overall, definitely a great value (although as I'm writing this my son just said he thinks he beat the game, and we've only had it a week . . . =-)
