I have been using Photoshop since 1989, both personally and professionally. When they went to a subscription model I switched to Elements at about the same time I retired. While it lacks the high end printing features of Photoshop that would be used in a commercial setting it has way more features than even an advanced amateur would use and they keep adding more every year. It has 3 editing modes, quick, guided and advanced. Quick is for beginner, Guided is for the amateur and expert is for just that. The value of this 3 tiered system is you can switch back and forth while staying with the same image and without losing any of your work. It has real value at $99 but you can usually catch it on sale particularly between Black Friday and Christmas.

I am using this program with InDesign, and it is perfect for all my pictures. It loaded perfectly, and I am really happy with the product. Very good program for all my pictures.

- installer kept on crashing with error 1. Tried everything mention in Adobe help site. Did not work. Finally found a forum post where it turned out deleting the Adobe preference setting did the trick. The problem was that the installer and uninstalled kept on saying issue was a corrupt cloud app. When in reality it was some left over preference files that were getting in the way, that the un-installer never cleaned up properly.
- the migration of the old 2020 catalog from my windows machine was corrupted. Could not be repaired.
- instead of asking where to import files from, it automatically assumes from the user photo folder as opposed to asking the first time. The is good for 99% of the users. But I store my photo on an external drive, so during bulk import I had to setup a path to it as well as create a library catalog to the drive in preferences.

- handled the old photo import extremely fast. Kept all my meta data.
- photo editor works like the old one in general
- new feature since 2020 are nice
- makes good use of the Mac gpus

Fabulous tools from Adobe to help edit video. Advances in AI are making leaps and bounds. Easy to install, no need for an annual license fee. Lots to learn and plenty of tutorials available online, Made a great holiday highlights video from our Hawaiian trip last year.

Program works good when it works. Freezes multiple time during the few hours I work per day. Crashes and closes down completely. Dave your work often as you never know what it will do! I've done the suggested online fixes, but they haven't solved the problem.
