This package is obviously European as the units are not USA standard. Once I set the primary units as feet, the density was still metric(kg/m3) as were several other units critical to construction and the option for SAE units did not exist. Even after setting the units to feet, when I attempted to lay in a foundation as a rectangle with the grid snap set at half feet, the dimensions continued to be in decimal inches and I could not set the foundation to the desired 34' by 44' but instead had to be satisfied with 34.xx ' by 44.yy'. I was not pleased with this program at all. It is possible that it was a learning curved but having retired as an engineer and having extensive experience with AutoCAD, either I got really stupid when I retired or this program is poor. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

I needed something to help design a small business space that I was developing. I am going to be going into gourmet mycology. WIth this being the case, my rooms and grow space need to be very precise. It's going to be a little bit before I put nail to wood, but this was great to help get me started virtually. As it stands, I have my entire space planned out. It's just a matter of pulling the trigger and finalizing the process. Super happy with the results I have so far.

If the only tool that you have is a hammer, then every problem looks like a nail. You can mold and slide 3D objects around the X, Y and Z planes in Blender. You can build blocky walls in Minecraft. But those are using hammers on screws.

3D CAD 8 is meant for architectural design. It's not for art projects or video games. Learn it today to save time tomorrow.

Ok so I first wanna say that I'm not a professional designer. With that, this program didn't load to my computer very easy and once it did it was kinda glitchy. I ended up restarting my computer and then it ran a little smoother but still slower than usual, maybe my computer is getting to old, who knows. Once I was in the program it was hard to get started as there wasn't much instruction or tutorials to help get started. A lot of the words are ones I had to look up to understand and abbreviations that I also didn't know. I tried to watch some videos about it, but not much help there. So far I haven't had time to mess with it again but once I do I'll update this review if I get it figured out.
