I have used this product before about 10 years ago. It is very easy to use and it gives you many features and the flexibility to design your site however you want. It had its own FTP and comes with a manual.

I fully admit, that I have been having a lot of problems with this product. Now, I'm not going to blame the software exactly. I have NO EXPERIENCE, none, either with setting up a blog, or creating a small site for a page or two, or making a bulletin board. In fact, most of my computer experience has been on MACS. WEBPLUS installs fine, tho i had to install it twice. (IT has a program that pulls your first attempt out of your computer, if you made a mistake somewhere along the way.) It was after the instillation, that I got lost. After much playing around, I was able to get a painting I made onto the first page, and some writing on it for a "HOME PAGE", but lost the work cos I didnt know how to save it. The PAINT program isnt intuitive, as much as you might think. Moving images, music, etc from your computer's HD, into the WEBPLUS program, takes quite a bit of time, trial and error, at least from my experience. Finally, after a LOT of effort, i just got too frustrated and quit.

IF you have little or no experience setting up a website prior to this, or a blog, etc, you could be getting in over your head. I think someone who understands computer programming on some level, along with prior experience making web sites, along with knowledge of paint, word, and blog programs, should have the proper foundation to pursue a WEBPLUS selfmade website. Consider having the proper experience, as important as having the compatable hardward to run the software. If you have little or no experience buidling websites, you might want to find someone to walk you thru this, so you're not overwhelmed. The programmers of WEBPLUS assume a certain amount of knowledge on the part of anyone downloading this product. For example, you need to understand web site "HIRARCHIES", like the HOME PAGE branches into your main themes, which also branch off, etc. (And thats the FIRST step!) There are books around about web site design, that a total newbie might study, before they buy this program. YOU HAVE ONE YEAR AFTER PURCHASE OF PRODUCT TO USE THE VOUCHER CODE BEFORE IT BECOMES OBSOLETE. SO HAVE YOURSELF EDUCATED BEFORE YOU BUY THIS PROGRAM. If you spend a lot of time figuring out how to use this program after you buy it, you'll use up all your time WEBPLUS gives you for posting your website on the net. BOTTOM LINE, if you have prior website experience, this seems to be a good website program. Its only because the advertising around this product infers that creating a website with WEBPLUS is VERY EASY, that I took off a couple of stars. I would have appreciated a better tutorial program, maybe even an instruction manuel, instead of being told that everything is intuitive. The video I saw on the program's home page, zipped thru some of the program's assets, without explaing how to navigate to and from those assets. A PHYSICAL manuel of some type would have helped, so you wouldnt need to keep searching thru topics lurking behind the program's help button.

The product is definitely easy to work with. However, choice of sample sites is limited and unsuitable for most applications. It is impossible to add e-commerce features if one is not located in a region of Great Britain.

Serif WebPlus X4  is what you should look at purchasing if you are either an intermediate or advanced user, looking for a quick way to whip together a fully-functional e-commerce site with 18 months of free web hosting and all the bells and whistles you could hope for in this type of product. If you are a novice web-designer or an intermediate computer user who just needs 'the essentials', this product (Serif WebPlus Essentials) might be for you.

Over 100 templates for business, home, e-commerce, entertainment, personal, or hobbies and interests, can be found in this product. You can link your site to PayPal, add YouTube videos, set up a blog and/or forums, optimize your site for web searches, and create unlimited pages and/or sites with free web hosting included for 12 months from the time you publish your first site. You can also start with a blank site and make your own, but this software really is designed for quick n' easy do-it-yourself web design without HTML knowledge being necessary. In other words - if you're into starting from scratch, you may not want this software anyway.  Adobe Dreamweaver CS5  is probably more to your liking, but then again, the price for that one is 10x's more than WebPlus Essentials.

Easy to navigate and customize, this software is a relatively inexpensive way to get started with a website. Great for reunion groups, clubs, large families, sororities and fraternities, teams, and small business website building. Smart objects (counters, blogs, etc...), photo galleries, videos... 'essentially' this is very good software for getting up and running on the web quickly, especially for those without web-design (HTML) knowledge, at a great price.

Bought this app at Fry's for $49.99. It installed easily enough but I soon discovered that it will not even create an html page without first "publishing" the site! That means that no web browser will be able to view what you create with this app as you add content, until your site is published. An app window said I would have more options and upgrades when I called to register the product. So I then called their number only to be told that it would be an extra $49.99 to get the upgrade. The customer service rep said that it is, after all, only the "essentials" in this app. What a poor excuse. If I cannot create a web page that will be opened by a browser, then that is certainly an essential that they are leaving out. ALSO, the advertisements say that it is "drag and drop" for pix, etc. That is the case, however, YOU HAVE TO IMPORT each item to the app BEFORE you can drag and drop. This app is totally useless. My old FrontPage 2002 had a lot more versatility than this piece of crap. Don't buy it. It's a scam!

Probably one of the easiest webpage builders I've ever used. Comes with about everything you need to design any type site. Not difficult to learn. Connects to linux servers well for uploading the sites. You can also use thier features and host with them which includes more features.
