Digital Performer lets you record, edit, arrange, mix, process and master MIDI and audio tracks simultaneously to produce musical recordings, sound tracks for film and television, and other audio production tasks. For both Mac and Windows, Version 11 delivers exciting new features, including Articulation Maps, Audio Retrospective Record, support for MIDI Polyphonic Expression (MPE), a completely redesigned nanosampler 2.0 instrument plug-in, support for macOS Big Sur, native compatibility with Apple silicon Macs and dozens of additional user-requested enhancements.
Get started quickly with over 300 different instruments, 1100 instrument presets and 500 loops. Included are acoustic and electronic drum kits, pianos, guitars and basses, along with church organs, electric organs, strings, brass, woodwinds, synths, ethnic instruments, choirs, voices, percussion, sound effects and more. This versatile collection of instruments spans musical genres, eras, geographical regions and cultural styles. The completely redesigned nanosampler serves as every DP user’s go-to virtual instrument for creating unique beats, instruments and sounds. Drop in a sample and start stretching, slicing, randomizing and transforming audio into just about any sound or instrument you can imagine. New features include: three playback modes (Classic, 1-shot and Slice), ZTX time stretching, beat slicing with Randomize and Auto Randomize, Repeat and Reverse.
Drag and drop audio and MIDI clips from DP's new Content Browser into Clips window cells and trigger them in real time, interactively, for live performance or on-the-fly inspiration while creating new material. Trigger multi-track clip groups (a partial row of cells) or the entire row (clips across all tracks). DP's unique clip queue lets you stack clip sequences ahead of time, without having to manually trigger each one. Clips can be added and removed, as inspiration strikes, from your computer or any MIDI controller. The Clips window allows you to combine clip triggering with linear, track-based playback and live mixing.
Shape, sculpt, twist, mangle and otherwise process your tracks with 90 included real-time audio and MIDI effect plug-ins. You get 32-bit processing and 64-bit mastering. Highlights include the efficient ProVerb convolution reverb, MasterWorks EQ modeled after British console EQs, MasterWorks Leveler modeled after the legendary LA-2A optical leveling amplifier, MultiMode Filter, Pattern Gate and many more.

Each window is loaded with features dedicated to each form of data, with the Sequence Editor serving as the grand master that displays all tracks and data together, side by side. Digital Performer's Waveform Editor is your all-in-one environment for down-to-the-sample waveform editing, precision beat editing, elastic audio stretching, pitch correction, embedded tempo maps and more. Lurking under the hood, however, are many powerful features and many time-saving shortcuts. Beautiful music notation
From lead sheets to orchestra scores, Digital Performer provides sophisticated music notation transcription and printing, including special scoring features for film composers that you won't find anywhere else. If the notation display looks like a train wreck because it wasn't recorded to the metronome, DP's Adjust Beats feature lets you graphically drag beats and barlines to line them up with MIDI note data - without changing how it plays back. The result? Readable notation and a timeline that match your music. Create and print lead sheets, complete with multi-stanza lyrics, transposable chord symbols and score arrangement features (endings, codas, etc.) Export your DP score to other notation apps with accuracy and ease using the industry standard MusicXML file format.

Masterfully crafted plug-in processing for your audio... Digital Performer's MasterWorks series premium audio processors have been engineered for the most demanding and exacting mixing situations. They feature virtually infinite internal dynamic range with both 32-bit and 64-bit processing, CPU-efficient performance, and accurate modeling of classic analog circuits. Where appropriate, multiple channel configurations are provided (mono, stereo and surround channel configurations). These plug-ins have garnered such respect in the industry, they are now available for sale as a separate package for other audio hosts. This allows you to leave them instantiated on tracks when transferring projects to other host applications.

Mixing and mastering
Digital Performer provides a complete array of equalization, filtering, dynamics processing, and other bread-and-butter production processors. Use them in concert with the MasterWorks series plug-ins to take your mix to world-class heights. Dynamic Equalizer combines multi-band EQ with dynamics processing and volume control. Three parametric bands and two shelving bands each provide both volume control and a full-featured compressor, complete with lookahead that can be set to different values for each frequency band. Precision Delay's unique, breakthrough design helps you phase-align complex signals. Spatial Maximizer takes a stereo signal and gives you independent control over center (mid) content versus the panned (side) content.
