TO EVERYONE SAYING IT WILL NOT WORK LEMME HELP YOU OUT

So yeah, this game will not work on current systems so if you think you are going to by this and pop it into your pc and play it, it will not work.

HOWEVER if you do want to play it you will have to use a virtual machine (an emulator of a compatible operating system). I recommend using Virtual Machine by Oracle, it came with a little bit of a learning curve but I was able to play it.

Hope this helps you nostalgic folks relive your childhoods!

Couldn't Get it to Work

We tried this on several different computers, including computers with Windows XP set on Windows 95 compatibility mode, and we could not get it to work. In fact, one computer wouldn't start up after trying to install it. I had to go through a pretty major process to get the computer working again. This was such a great game for my older kids, and I was disappointed that my younger son couldn't use it. Too bad there isn't a newer version. I bet it would sell well. We ended up sending this one back to Amazon, who did a great job with the refund.

Didn't matter what computer we tried this on it wouldn't work. Sad I loved that game as a child and my nephew was really looking forward to playing it after I talked it up like I did. No Christmas fun for him.

Lots of work to get this to work on Windows 7 or 8. Don't get it if thats your only choice of operating systems.

Just got this today, if you can get it to work it is because you are not using the old versions of window like the 1995/1998, Me, or Windows XP.. I had to put my old Windows xp up and disable the anti-virus system to get it to work as well as download quick play... I'm glad a got it, you should buy it!

I grew up with Carmen Sandiego, and was disappointed that they are not formatted for the computers now-a-days. :( I have an older computer to run this one, but it does freeze too much and the idea of restarting and doing over each scene is not fun. I hope the makers of these great learning tools will format these for the technology that is out now. I did find one Carmen Sandiego series that I can probably use on my updated computer but not the rest of yet...

Does not work on new computers without a lot of extra work. It was a fantastic game, but unless you have a windows 98 lying around it will not work.
