    This was a Christmas gift and our daughter was SO excited to start writing her own plays! We're not very tech-savvy, but the only "system requirements" listed was "CD-ROM." We knew our computer does have a CD-ROM drive (whose doesn't??) and figured we could manage a simple software installation. Not so, apparently. When we attempted the install, we got a message stating that it "was incompatible with a 64-bit version of windows."

    Now, I'm just guessing that this means the software is too old to be run on a newer computer. (Other clues: the copyright date is 1997 and it included instructions for installation on Windows 95. We've got mad detective skills over here.) Perhaps there's a way to install this? But again, not very tech-savvy. So, we're hoping we can return it for a full refund. Otherwise, I guess we're out $20 and our boys have a new frisbee.

    This game is nearly two decades old. While younger girls who enjoy theatre, creative games, and American Girl are likely to have some fun with it, enjoyment of this game is mostly limited to American Girl collectors and 80's and 90's babies wishing to relive memories and rekindle childhood nostalgia. The graphics are very dated, the audio from the voices are fuzzy and robotic, and there isn't a whole lot to the gameplay. This game was designed for personal computers of the mid 1990's which brings me to an important point for individuals wishing to play this game in the modern computing era. You will need an older computer or emulator (e.g. SheepShaver for Macintosh users) to successfully run this game. Don't dismiss this game simply because of its' age, but do understand you will not be able to pop it into a modern computer running a newer OS without an emulator.
