Was quite skeptical because I read there were issues with the new Big Sur operating system on the Mac. I had no problem purchasing (Mac download) and getting it to my computer. I did have problems when it came to the fourth update install As it continuously errored out. I was able to correct that problem by turning my computer off and turning the modem/router off and then turning each of them back on. The update installed no problem and it is working great. Glad There were no issues. Took a little over an hour with all the updates to install. Highly recommend.

For years, I have purchased a Turbo Tax CD to do my taxes, mainly because I don't want that information online. This year because we are living in the bush of Alaska and couldn't pick up a CD at a store and mail orders take 3 plus weeks to arrive, I decided to use Turbo Tax online. Initial cost was similar, but then I found out the state wasn't included - additional fee. Then the fee to file the state online was double that when I was using the CD on my desktop. It wasn't until after I had completed out taxes and was ready to file I discovered just how much more online costs. There wasn't an option to print and mail in the state portion, which I've always done. Only options were to pay $50 more to e-file it with the fed or delete the state. Also, I couldn't navigate around as easily as I could on the desktop. The desktop version suited me better, financially and the ease of use. Plus I feel better not having my tax info out there online. Instead of paying about $120 additional in fees, I bought the e-download, then googled how to transfer the info to the desktop (I was prepared to reenter everything because of all the additional fees), then cleared all the info on my online tax account.

Very easy to use software with reliable results (for taxpayers without complicated tax liabilities). I enjoy the ability to import data from the previous year's return along with the automated download/date entry of the current year's W2 and other tax form info from the Internet. Saves a lot of time and reduces possibility of errors during data entry. I've used this software for my last (15) tax returns. Highly recommended.

The only annoying thing is all the updates. There is at least one or more a week throughout the entire tax season (and beyond!). I've had updates that came in May or June the following the close of tax season. I must note that the updates didn't change the actual values of the return on any year I've used the software so I'm not sure the of the purpose of a post tax season update...

Besides the tiny window in which Turbo Tax opens and the absurdly small font (it has been this way for several years now), I found Turbo Tax Deluxe 2020 to be much improved over past versions.
First of all, if you have an Mac OS (operating system) from before Mojave, you will need to upgrade. I upgraded from High Sierra to Catalina. It was quick and simple (less than an hour). Upgrading to Catalina freed up 15Gb of storage space on my hard drive. Use Safari to help you find Catalina download on the Apple App Store. Run a search in Safari for "Upgrading from High Sierra to Catalina", or whatever you are upgrading from and to. Look for a search result specifically from Apple. They have a web page with links, specifically designed for Safari, so that, when in Safari, you click on them Safari opens up the App Store and the OS version you are wanting to download.
Back to Turbo Tax. One reviewer said the 1099-R form is missing. This is not true. Turbo Tax has 11 sections under income and one of them is dedicated to retirement income. I suggest allowing Turbo Tax to walk you through all sections of the federal and state tax forms, so that you don't miss anything. If you have trouble finding a form, simply use Turbo Taxes search option (magnifying glass icon) and search for it by number (ex. "form 1099-R") or go under "Forms" (top right, while in Turbo Tax) and search for the form you want that way.
The biggest improvement I noticed in Turbo Tax Deluxe this year was the health care/insurance section. Last year I had to search for several health-related forms within Turbo Tax, but this year they were included in the health section, with prompts for filling them out. Thank you Amazon for offering Turbo Tax!

Using a MacBook Pro 13" M1 with MacOS Big Sur 11.1, 8 GB memory, 256 MB SDD, TurboTax 2020 Deluxe with state. No issues installing or doing the initial software update. No issues importing my tax file from TurboTax 2019 which was generated on my Windows 10 desktop last year.

So far I have only been through the initial verification of my personal info as I won't have my tax info until end of the year, but clicking around on things it seems fine thus far.

I've never had an issue with TurboTax on Windows in previous years.

This is an Intel app, so of course I have the Apple native emulator installed. However, this is pretty much required to use these new M1 Apple machines at this time, so this is not a big deal at all, and I did not have to do anything special for TurboTax to work. It just worked like it would on any other Mac.

Overall very pleased so far. Hopefully the screens and forms are accurate as usual. I just wanted to post this quick for those wondering if it would work on the newer Apple platform.
