This is a solid product that I have been using for the past 10 years. You get to protect multiple devices for 2 years with the peace of mind that when you are surfing the internet you are being protected by AVG. Very easy to install and operate. Use the deep scan option as often as needed based on your online activity. I run a deep scan at least once a week. Great product and value.

I've been using Avast, but its popups became rather annoying. This seems to have much fewer, while still getting the same great reviews for detection over at AV-Comparatives. And it notified me that a recuring scam email's attachment was infected, and quarantined it, which is something Avast wasn't doing (not that I'd open the attachment). The Android app also seems to work well.

My only complaint would be I haven't found the add on products at all useful. I installed a few and then deleted. But just the AV product itself works well. 5 stars due to detection ability.

Edit: I'm downgrading to 4 stars because it flagged an update to one of my installed Windows apps as suspicious, and didn't allow me to do anything about that for almost one minute as it analyzed the file. There should be an easier way to say I trust the source rather than having to wait.

I used Avast before but decided to try AVG this time. Avast and AVG use the same engine, so the only difference is the GUI. Note, Avast bought AVG a couple of years ago. I think the AVG's GUI is slightly easier to use. When you do more advantages functions, like working with firewall rules, the GUI is identical and both are easy to use. AVG does not appear to be a resource hog. I haven't noticed is using a lot of processor time. Since it uses the same engine as Avast, I would expect not to be a resource hog.

I would buy either Avast or AVG again as both are decent products. I have installed AVG on Windows, Android, and IOS without any problems. You just need to add the license key and you can easily find instructions online for doing this. I bought the 10 device version and I learned with Avast that you need to track the systems that you install the product on. If you buy directly from the company, you can register each system with the company, so you will know how many licenses you used by checking online.

When you buy AVG 3rd party, you need to track each system. You also have to remember to uninstall the software if you are switching computers. If not you will not be able to get that license back. I note each system I install AVG on in a text file. Under "My Subscriptions" you can see the expiration date of each module and AVG will give you pop-ups when your subscription is close to expiring, so you won't get caught off guard.
