First thing to mention: The software comes on DVD, but there's a download link as well if you don't have an optical drive. It's 2023, most of my computers no longer have optical readers! I'd heard a lot about Samplitude, especially their X Pro versions, but I always thought the "music studio" was a watered down loop machine.
Boy WAS I WRONG. This software is incredible! I dabble in music sometimes to go along with a production I'm working on, starting with Cakewalk and working my way up into bigger software- I was not expecting all of these features to be present on such affordable package! It comes with an incredible selection of VSTs and plugins that you can select and download upon first launch, and even has AUTOTUNE (or as Magix calls it, Vocal Tune 2) for fixing recordings on those of us with less than perfect pitch. In fact, I'm still trying to find a feature it DOESN'T have that I'd want on the more expensive software.
Ok, I have to admit I'm a fan of Magix ever since they bought Sony Creative Software's Vegas for video editing and kept it alive. Now they have earned my respect yet again. If you're dabbling in music and want a good user-friendly place to start, I can't recommend Samplitude enough. It might actually be all you ever need. Get it!

MIDI support for electronic drums is a great feature. VST plugins are easy to import and inject into the session. I would recommend this to all beginner/intermediate users such as myself.
