[Retail Box with Download Card] There is no Download Card in the box to download a digital copy of the software. The Sleeve that the Software CD comes in has a note: "Digital download instructions in QuickStart Guide" The Quickstart Guide has instructions to download a "Digital Copy", but the CyberLink URL listed doesn't work - it redirects to a different URL and there is no option to enter your Product Key.
When I spoke with CyberLink Customer Service, they informed me that the digital copy is now handled by sending a separate download email to the registered email account on CyberLink's web site. Since I purchased the software on Amazon, even though it is from the Cyberlink vendor, my Amazon email account didn't get the additional download email from CyberLink. If I had purchased the software on CyberLink's site, then a Digital Copy email would be sent to the Cyberlink account's email address.

The software installed easily and after I went through and added some additional media file associations, it pretty much handles anything I throw at it. It updates easily and the patch for the Lifetime license appears to be a full install .exe (the patch was as large as the original installation software but maybe it checks for a previous installation). Customer Service was helpful and quick as long as you have a VS code and it might help if you are experienced with English with an Asian accent. Customer Service was gracious enough to send me a Digital copy download email to my CyberLink email account after I had registered the product on their website.

TLDR, you don't get a Digital Copy if you purchase the software on Amazon; you do if you purchase it on CyberLink's web site. At the current time, the price is the same on both sites.

4.0 out of 5 stars The product is great to use once you figure out the product key.

I got the disk and fired it up and it asked for the product key. I typed it in and no go. Tried several times, no go. Contacted support and waited 2 days and nothing. So I tried entering key again. The thing was it has groups of 5 characters and 1 group of 4. Also the last character looked chopped off. The group of 4 was DQ8W and the last character looked like a 'C' but could have been 'O' or '0'. So I started trying a bunch of combinations and realized DQ8W was DQ8V V!! The font and spacing is confusing and the last character did turn out to be a 'C'. Then finally I heard from them, but I had to make an account to see their answer. Yeah, another acct, I must have over a 100 of them!! Anyway, they wanted a picture of the product key. Reasonable request, but I told them, I figured it out, so the ticket was closed. I've never had to make an acct with anyone else for tech support, PITA!! Now to the product itself, wonderful, marvelous, I couldn't be happier. I've use VLC and though it is a really nice product for being free, it does have some difficulties playing DVDs, it misses stuff. Like the intros to my lecture DVDs. I only found that out when I used an old version of PowerDVD on my old laptop. I also noticed commentaries missing from my Twilight Zone DVDs with VLC. PowerDVD keys may be lame, but the actual product is highly recommended for any of you still using DVDs.

5.0 out of 5 stars I still find it to be pricey but… I am really liking how well it works.

I am still from a time when, with versions 5, 6, 8, etc., the software came included with my optical drives (yes, more stripped-down versions… but still worked well for me most of the time)… so, a more than $50 price tag (when it’s on a super-sale price) still feels a bit like being punched in the gut.
As I use the software, though, that feeling is lessening, day by day… but I think much of my thoughts are because I don’t utilize most ‘power’-features… just want a stable player.
If you want a well-written and feature packed player, and are ok with the price, then I can recommend the software. It definitely works better than the media players included in the OS that I use.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great with Windows 10 Pro and a portable DVD/Bluray player
Reviewed in the United States on March 31, 2023
Okay just want to mention that $65 is not that much to spend on a quality software utility like this. True you may only need it to decode DVD's and Blu-ray discs but the software seems to work and install very well. One thing that I think it handled for me was some people reported region incompatibility issues with the particular player I purchased and perhaps this software solved that issue for me automaticlaly not sure but with this software my budget DVD Bluray played perfectly out of the box. There are other benefits as well though I mainly got it to play content on my Windows 10 laptop. There are educational discounts available if you are a student, teacher, or staff member of a school or university so you may want to consider that for additional savings. The interface is high quality and nothing cheesy about this software. My only gripe is that it would have been nice to also install this on my Desktop so that I could use it in my office when I am not using it on my laptop. As far as I know, the software only works on one computer. Please correct me if I'm wrong. The installation process was a breeze. I was able to install it then I registered it and ran an update online from the website. FYI another good reason to get this brand is they will be around in the future. They also offer other software and are starting to get into the video recognition software market as well.

2.0 out of 5 stars Beware of CyberLink
Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2024
CyberLink is a wonderful product for a while now. As off 8/25/2024 CyberLink powerdvd 22,23 will no longer support UHD 4K play back, it’s will play regular Blu-ray and other files except UHD 4K images, the software will still have everything else. So if you don’t need UHD 4K play back, it is a wonderful program!!!!
