This product is no longer supported per Jumpstart and cannot be played. A waste of money

Do not buy this product unless you are prepared to pay a monthy (7.99) or yearly fee to be able to complete the games on this CD. This program requires internet access to be able to install it and after the child completes the first two levels (2 keys) he/she will not be able to go any further unless they become a "jumpstart member" which costs money. I could not believe this at first because I read the entire box and nowhere does it mention that one would need to sign up and pay additional fees to complete the game. So I emailed jumpstart and they responded by saying yes it is true you must become a member and they offered us one free month and then we would have to start paying after that. My son loved the games and cried when he found out he could not go any further because out of principle we will not become a member. This company has gone too far by being deceptive and dishonest.

I just read two previous reviews here and was not aware of the online extra's and charges. If there is a monthly charge, I will not take this program (CD) any further than the program goes. I have 2 grandchildren that are playing it now and both find it very nice with excellent 3 D movement and great game-play and learning. I bought the game at $15 and I think that I am getting my money's worth at what we have been doing so far. When I saw the multiple levels it seemed 2 good to be true after learning and entertaining my grandchildren ages 5 and 10 for many hours and just staying on the first. Another area I was shocked at was that only 2 people could play-sign-in (do you need online extras ??? to activate additional players or names???). I have another grandchild that will want to play soon!! If you can purchase for $10 or less .. it is still good value for the money

4.0 out of 5 stars It has it's pros and cons.

I once played this game around 2010. I remember it being very fun for me and my brother (6 at the time). He enjoyed finding new areas to unlock, playing the learning games, and finding easter eggs. Me and my brother (now 12) decided we are going to purchase this again for nostalgia. There is one problem though. The game can cost between 5-20$, then forcing you to purchase a membership to continue. Pretty sad.

Just when the kids are having fun, they stop the game and ask for money. I'm willing to pay, but being tricked is nasty. If they are this devious, it makes me wonder what information about me and my child they are pulling from my computer and who they are selling it to. I would not trust this company with a direct line to my computer. Note: I have several other Jumpstart games that do not require membership, and they are pretty good. I like the products; I just do not trust the company because they have behaved deceptively already.

Yes, they do trick you into paying $7.99 if you want to go beyond the first 2 units (12 total) BUT... this game is FANTASTIC! It is totally engaging and educational too. My son is 6 and he has played it for 2 months solid (with 2 units to go). Today we figured out how to play the additional online games as well. Don't let the monthly price stop you- this game is worth at least 5 others and here at amazon, you pay $9 less than retail anyway... there's the first month's price.
