My latest adventure with a borked computer system,took a pleasant turn when my System Rescue CD came. My 12 year old, and but still valued system booted in a jiffy to a comforting command line Linux. Yea! The grub unknown became much less frightening, and the likelihood of an infinite sequence of failed installs diminished. The vendor supplied a professional looking CD and mailed it promptly. Yea!

I wasn't able to use it. The disk wasn't going in the drive smoothly. I didn't want to take the risk of the disk getting stuck in my drive. The paper was scraping off and the back was getting scratched.

I found out the hard way that system rescue cds are the best way to go whenever I "try someting new" on my computer. This rescue saved me a lot of time and aggravation.

It did not work for me. The windows utility is very limited. If you have a Linux system it had a array of items to select from
