1.0 out of 5 stars 100% failure rate in every feature I have tried

I agree with another dissatisfied buyer, AS FAR AS THE REVIEWS ARE CONCERNED, IF THIS NOT A COMFIRMED PURCHASED ON AMAZON, IT IS PROBABLY NOT RELIABLE.

UPDATE 5/20/14 Since I posted my review I have tried all of the features. MOST DO NOT WORK AS CLAIMED.

The program only imports from pinterest as far as I can tell, every other site, American Test Kitchen, Epicurious, Food and Wine did not work as claimed.

They have some videos on their site to get you started, and one to tell you who very proud they are of the of the lovely new colors and icons.

The nutrition info is for the whole recipe. Don't understand why they included a number of servings field if it is irrelevant.

They do not buy you the recipe program of your choice if you are not satisfied, if fact they do not even respond.

I asked for a list of files that don't automatically uninstall. no response

I was very happy to find this program. It seemed like the answer to the very tedious task of adding nutrition info to recipes.

I was under the impression (can't remember the source) that this program would import my recipes into the program. This was an important feature because I know those recipes and my family likes them.

I tried to import several times. Each import returned a message that the recipe had been saved. I could not find the recipe. I finally did a search of my hard drive and there was no recipe. I contacted customer support and they responded promptly. The solution was ridiculous.

The program requires the text to be formatted with @@@@ symbols and "| "symbols in several sections of the recipe so that the program can recognize the different areas. Seems a little deceptive to call this feature importing when that "import" can't be done without editing.

I next tried to import a recipe from the internet (not pinterest). The result was a title, a bit of description, but no ingredients. This of course would make nutritional analysis difficult, and wouldn't do much for the shopping list feature either.

I will give this another try tomorrow. I really hope I can get this program to be useful to me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Recipe Software
Reviewed in the United States on July 10, 2022
I am impressed with this software. I had been using Living Cookbook for many years until Radium Technologies became just a shell company. Cook'n has many features and capabilities beyond expectations. The biggest complaint I have is after you purchase the software, then you're hit with recurring subscription fees and other costs to use the software at its fullest capacity. If I hadn't had to enter so many recipes to rebuild my cookbook, I would have managed without the subscription. I still think Cook'n is one of the best recipe software you'll find. I've compared it to all the leading recipe software on the market and for my taste, Cook'n won out. I was disappointed that Cook'n could not import MealMaster files which was where most of my recipes were located, but I don't believe there are any software today that could have converted it. The MealMaster database was from a DOS version. I would recommend this software to anyone looking for a recipe program.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not Windows 10 friendly UPDATE: 2/24/2020

Finally got Cook'n to "Cook" on Windows 10. However... I am furious about the terms of this purchase. There is nothing on the purchase pages or on the terms of use pages that indicate that Cook'n is a subscription service.

On top of that, Cook'n left a note saying that our trial period was over. $85 dollars gets us a trial membership? Amazon is giving me real pause to make further software purchases. -Paul

1.0 out of 5 stars WARNING / ATTENTION: THIS COMPANY IS DISHONEST
Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2016
NEGATIVE 5 STARS, FOLKS! WARNING TO ALL CONSIDERING PURCHASING THIS SOFTWARE: Please take time to read the recent reviews from folks like myself who were totally mislead by this company. THIS COMPANY IS DISHONEST AND DOES NOT HONOR THE CONTRACTS THEY MAKE. They advertised that this expensive software was just what we needed because we could have access to all of our favorite recipes forever from multiple devises by syncing to the cloud. Most of the people I know who use Cook'n MAINLY use it just for that feature. Yes, all of the other little features they offer on the desktop version sound nice and probably are quite coo for those who have time to use them, but neither I nor any of my friends use any of that. All we did was painstakingly enter our recipes into the program on our desktop and then, by syncing to the cloud, we used our tablets, phones, etc. in our kitchens when cooking. We each paid the $80 fee for this software because of this ability to use it from multiple devices. Many of us also paid another exorbitant fee the next year for upgrades, in large part due to the fact that they offered each of us two free downloads of their software for our friends. So, we gladly paid the upgrade fee and got two more of our friends to use this "wonderful" program. Now, without even any advance warning to my knowledge, we suddenly all find we cannot access the cloud sync feature anymore because DVO has now started charging a monthly fee for that aspect of the program even to the people who bought that feature. I totally get it if they want to change to this model, advertise it every clearly to prospective buyers, and charge them this monthly fee if they agree to buy the software knowing this ongoing fee is part of the deal. But, to go back and start charging old customers?! THIS IS UNREAL, and, according to the lawyer I spoke with, apparently also ILLEGAL. Please be warned, prospective buyers! To anyone reading this who is as unhappy as my friends and I with this company, please feel free to contact me!
