    The reason I bought a later version of Nero was because my old version Nero 6 had some compatibility issues with Windows 7. This version didn't have any instructions that came with it but I was able to download a PDF file from their web site that had some instructions. By just using the program on some home movies, I learned through trail and error how to edit and write them to a disc. Works good with Windows 7. Couldn't beat the price of around $8.00 for the program.

    I bought the program just for the Blu-ray player. I know other buyers have warned against buying this product, but they are wrong to a degree; probably because they did not contact Nero support ([email protected]) or Nero has improved the product. Initially, like them, my version of Nero Video Premium HD did not play Blu-ray disks, but after I contacted Nero support it did. The trick is to update by running Nero Control Center (NCC.exe): You can find Nero Control Center in your Nero folder. Nero Control Center will check for updates. Once you install the updates, a Blu-ray player will be installed, and you can use that to play Blu-ray disks as I did. The update also provides new features to Nero Video Premium HD, so in addition to playing DVD's, Blu-ray's, and the other features included in your original version, the update includes much more, but I have not had time to check the new features. I have Nero Video Premium HD installed in Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit, and all I did with my version is play a Blu-ray disk. However, after that the program failed, and after reinstalling I could not download the Blu-ray player. Using Nero Customer Service was an unpleasant experience. They could not solve the problem. I finally asked them to provide good customer service by sending me the download link and product key for another Nero program that had a Blu-ray player, since they do not have/sell a stand-alone Blu-ray player, and they have not done that.

    Some additional information. One can also follow the update instructions in the Quickstart Guide that comes with the product to get the updates that contain the Blu-ray player. It is probably best to run the update software more than once; I believe I ran it a second time and got more updates. Finally, the updater will download software from other sites if your system (in my case Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit) does not have the necessary software it needs.

    According to the information given to Amazon and shopsaveshop.com this is software to play Blu-ray discs on your laptop, desktop or other PC that has a Blu-ray player/burner. Don't believe the hype. This piece of trash is not, I repeat, not supported by Nero. It is too old. Even after downloading numerous updates to this "software", it still will not play any Blu-ray disc I have. I have tried several different discs and nothing is supported. I have tried discs from 2009 to 2015. Since this is a review of just this product, I cannot name the various discs tried. It is not my drive, since before this software I had been using some free software, but it had stopped working as well. Since I have dealt with Nero in the past I thought this would be some good software. This is just junk, and waste of my money. To get something that will work from Nero you have to upgrade to their current top of the software which will set you back $120.00 for the full version, only $60.00 for the download version. I am on S/S disability and money is tight. So I am left with junk software that doesn't work, and I can only play DVD's on a Blu-ray drive. After posting this review, I have determined that it may not be the software. I have discovered that my Blu-ray drive laser is dying. This product only works with good laser's, otherwise it will not play. A Blu-ray drive laser uses a blue laser which is considerably smaller than a DVD/CD laser which is red. The two drives do not work the same. That is why a DVD/CD will continue to play without problems even if the Blu-ray laser goes to pot. Sorry for the confusion, my fault.

    He tenido problemas con la activación del producto, me he comunicado con Nero y me han dicho que si descargo el software desde la pagina oficial de descargas de Nero me va a correr sin problemas, lo he hecho pero no me ha servido de nada. Después de todo yo mismo he tenido que resolver el problema. Lo que tienen que hacer es que en el momento que el programa se está instalando les va a pedir el numero de serie o activación, no lo introduzcan en ese momento, den clic en siguiente y dejen que termine de instalar. Después que ya tengan instalado el programa, ejecuten Nero Control Center, borren el numero de serie o activación de prueba e introduzcan el numero que les vino con el producto que se encuentra en la funda de papel del disco y se activará sin problemas.

    I had problem with product activation, I have contacted Nero and they told me that if I download the software from the official download page of Nero I will be running smoothly, but I've done has helped.     I like Nero products. I needed something simple to replace software on my old computer that died. I found this. It's a little old school, but it works fine for what I need. The price was right, and I'm very happy with it.

    Doesnt play back Blu Ray! After installation, my BD still doesnt work, The rest of it is worthless trash anyways.
