This product does not work!!! Don't buy !!!!

I bought this product and put it in my computer and got an error message saying that this version was not compatible with my version of Windows. I run Windows 7. It said that I need a 32 bit or a 64 bit version of this program to run on my computer. My computer is one year old! I tried to call them but all I got was busy signals for several days. Finally contacted them via their website and they said that they do not support this outdated program.
Thanks a lot. The Learning Comnpany sucks and I would not buy anything from them ever again.

Fun engaging and challenging

Glad that the item arrived on time with the headset and cds. Installation worked well on windows xp. Though no workbook was found so I went ahead and ordered it. I think it should be a fun language to learn. The lessons are well structured and concrete. And everything is explained in great detail

I found this product to be a bit dated and primitive. Every time you open the program you have to listen to the same introductory English instructions, which quickly become annoying. The links for the online portion of the lessons seemed to be inactive. The best thing about the software is that it includes interactive exercises, in which you have simulated conversations with screen characters. Unfortunately, there are only a limited number of those exercises. I returned to package to the vendor, Nothing But Software. They were very helpful, and they gave me a prompt refund. In general, I'm sure that there are better software packages in a similar price range, for people like me who don't want to pay $500 for Rosetta Stone.

A clunker of a product on windows xp pro. One has to insert disc 1 to start the program. Then remove disc 1 to insert disc 2, 3 or 4, to get the proper lessons. If the program freezes up, then you have to shut it down. Can not insert disc 2, or 3, or 4 or it will say this version will not work in a windows NT environment.....

So, in its glory old day, it probably worked fine in windows 95, 98, etc.... But it doesn't work as smoothly as it should in win xp.

But it still serves its purpose... for the price... The spontanous conversation did not work well, but there are always glitches on voice regcognition softwares. It will do... Not great... but fun enough and beneficial enough that I would say, can complement your classes.

Clutsy with xp pro, you might consider using it in older windows versions.

I started with this ok, but the microphone probably isn't too good. At least, I think my
pronunciation is good enough to get past the second lesson -- but I couldn't. I gave up on
it. It might work all right with a better microphone, and I'll try again some day.

I received the cds in beautiful order. However,the set is not usable without the microphone and speakers which were not enclosed...so I am unable to use them. Needless to say, I was very disappointed.
