1.0 out of 5 stars This program is a piece of Garbage! DO NOT BUY

This program is a piece of Garbage! DO NOT BUY! There is no way of printing the help section or knowledge base, so you can take advantage of the functionality. You must buy multiple licenses to use on multiple platforms. When you e-mail support, you quickly receive a response from Geoff explaining he is sorry to disappoint you, but you can't do something as simple as print out a help file. He suggested, I include it (my request) in a vote, so it may be included in the next revision, and then I can pay for that update! This company has produced a product not for the consumer, but for themselves. It is a waste of time and money.

2.0 out of 5 stars NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! DON'T BUY!!!!!!

I have been using Living Cookbook since it came out and have always loved it. Lately my computer crashed and I had to reinstall my version of LC 2013, and then figured I would upgrade to 2015.
When I installed LC 2013 could not get it to register so I wrote Radium Tech, waited days and never heard back so I wrote again....... Still nothing. I searched on the internet for a phone number ( They do not provide one on their website) and called... surprise the mailbox was full! Well I have written to them at least six times over the last two weeks with no reply. Now I can't use the program or upgrade it unless its registered, and it looks like Radium doesn't care if I do.
So all I can say if you want customer service you better find a different program. I have decided to switch to a different program even though it will take a lot of work to transfer my recipes.
I have always loved Living cookbook it is such a shame what has happened to a great company and product

3.0 out of 5 stars Needs more revisions unfortunately!

I was given a Living Cookbook as a gift in 2011. As it was not compatible with my new computer, I purchased another in 2014 hoping that any revisions would have been enhanced. Not so. As I am entering my own recipes and want to type in the information, the system second guesses my choices. This takes longer the enter the information as I would like it to be. Such as ingredients, procedure etc. Almost every recipe that I enter has 2 or more ingredients that the system does not recognize, consequently the result does not accurately total the nutritional data, which was one of the reasons I purchased it originally.

Very good program. One wish is that they make scanning into it easier. We have a mess of recipes and scanning and going to other programs is a pain. Should be able to scan directly into the cook book.

5.0 out of 5 stars I am extremely pleased with this software

I am extremely pleased with this software! It has so many more features than I had imagined. The learning curve is going to be a bit stiff for this ol' computer challenged Gramma, so it will take some time to get it up and fully functional for me, but that's OK. It will be worth it! One feature that for me is worth the whole purchase price is a very complete and thorough listing of ALL the dozens of nutrients (vitamins, minerals, types of fats, etc.) in any given food item. That way when I finish imputing a recipe, or a menu or a weekly or monthly plan, I can pull up the totals and see immediately if my personal nutritional requirements are being met. I kinda wish I could just go "POOF!" and have it done!
If at some point my thinking changes on this item, I will update my review. But at this time, I am well satisfied and highly recommend this software!

1.0 out of 5 stars Living Cookbook Has Poor Customer Support.
Reviewed in the United States on May 13, 2015
I first purchased LC in 2011. I developed a cookbook and published the cookbook using this software. The two problems for publication were the nutrition information attached to the recipes and the difficulty to put the work into a PDFs file. With a lot of effort and a good publisher, I was able to overcome both shortcomings. I purchased a license for the 2013 version and then for the 2015 version with the intention of publishing another cookbook. There were significant problems trying to update my software to the newer version. I tried using LC customer support more than seven times and we could not get the software to upgrade. By this time I could not even recover my files in LC and lost approximately 75 recipes. I went on and on with customer service to no outcome. All they would have had to have done is offer to reload the basic software and upgrade me to the 2015 version. Previously, I had paid for everything including the 2015 license. But they ignored me when they could not fix the problem. I sent a note asking for a refund of my license fee and received no response. I would not recommend this software because of poor customer support and because they do not value their customers.

2.0 out of 5 stars no customer service

The program is a good one and has worked well for the most part, but the customer service is absolutely non existent. I have tried to contact them repeatedly for a problem with the 2015 update and have not received any response whatsoever. Until they begin to respond, I cannot recommend this program.

3.0 out of 5 stars It seems the developer has lost interest
Reviewed in the United States on December 19, 2015
I have been using Living Cookbook for ten or more years and have purchased several updates on more than one computer in that time. I STILL USE IT EVERY DAY and am still happy with it.

It used to be awesome, way ahead of its time. The customer service was second to none. There was an active community of loyal LCB user forum members who would help with problems and the developer himself would answer queries almost by return.

But then something happened. I wish I knew what. The developer became un-contactable, the mobile version which was regularly promised for many years never saw light of day and development has more or less stopped. Finally they discontinued the user forums and customer service seems to have plummeted from 5*+ to 1*-

The software is still very good & very comprehensive - probably the best in the business - but it is beginning to show its age. Neither a mobile nor a Mac version has been developed nor has the cloud been embraced.

Sad. It still has the potential to be the top recipe software of all. I just wish the developer would sell it on to someone new with the enthusiasm to turn it into what it has the potential to be.
