My kids had fun going through this the first time and were really excited when they would find a clue. However, I have two complaints. It claims that if you reset it, the new mystery will be different, but the hiding places never really seem to change (one time you may find the crank in this hiding place and the next time it will be the false teeth you need, but you just go to the same place to find things). Second, the level you choose does not really seem to make things more difficult.
Bottom line, put it on the spookiest (hardest) level and enjoy it the first time through, but do not expect to get repeated, unique mysteries out of it.
