I like the fact that John Halloran is very helpful. I called twice. He immediately answered the phone and assisted me. John knows a lot about astrology. I'm very happy with the purchase.

Delivery great service; customer service and help is great; the product is very good but went online to print different instructions. If printed instructions with all the different processes that can be run with the software was included with the product, it would make it so much better purchase. I did have trouble loading the software and did not install until uninstalled my Norton security which clashes. I have computer science education and the software installing is not a problem but your security software may not allow it as the code has to be added to run it. I reinstalled Norton and everything is as it should be.

Love this product. Whether you're a newbie to Astrology or experienced pro, constructing a birth chart has,never been easier. The instructions are clear and concise, following what we're used to in computer-ese. Drop-downs, Click buttons, Print Options, etc. Thanks, Halloran, for making an old-time Astrologer young again.

With regard to the comparison between ADP and Solar Fire 9 -

For me, there is really nothing to compare, and I have both.

SF is a mass-market program that does a lot, and quite well, but little very
well.

Pretty much all of its functionality is available in better and cheaper
packages, apps etc (incl free or low-priced web services).

ADP (I'm going to talk about ADP as I bought AD ReportWriter and upgraded
very quickly once I understood what I was dealing with) - is a carefully
designed and calibrated instrument for the professional astrologer or
researcher.

It contains a practical, working implementation of some of the more
interesting and powerful techniques in contemporary western astrology. All
of which have been tested and copiously explained with instruction and
examples in a manual that is more like a trade-craft textbook.

You will find experimental and research-driven techniques that are simply
not available elsewhere, or as well, for eg. Dorothy's Oja's Planetary
Resonance Cycles; Vocational Rankings generated from statistical analyses of
1000's of case studies of charts, planetary declinations, etc; Boehrer
Declination Graphs; Aspect Patterns; copious Midpoint functionality with a
very rare English-translated pop-up interpretation of Alfred Witte Rules
(delineations); Innovative planetary and degree strength indicators; a
fascinating Sabian symbols lexicon; and much more.

These are some of the tools that are available to the astrologer. There are
more, esp in the forecasting / prognosis modules (included). If you thought
Annual Transits were an effective way of mapping out the year, then you have
much to gain from these - they will change the way you think about
prognosis.

This is a future-oriented astrology more than a fluffy psychobabble one.
Delineation reports are solid, and you won't find better in class. Luckily,
John has done all the heavy lifting, so the user has minimal interaction
with the complexity involved in running some of these techniques.

For me the fourfold Moving Graphic Ephemeris is alone worth the price of the
software.

If this is something that you haven't used or considered using before, then
you're in for a treat.

I could say more, but I think this conveys the idea.

I would suggest purchasing an application like Astrogold (which is a solid
and clean program from the Alabe crew, and inexpensive) for its graphical
charting capabilities - this is the only area where I feel ADP could
improve, but there is so much of this around for free that I'm glad John's
focus has been on praxis.

If I had to choose one program to take with me to a desert island, ADP would
be on the short list. SF would not.

Almost exactly 30 years ago I was taking my first astrology lesson, when someone handed me a floppy disk (that's right) with 'Astrol88' on it to check it out. I could only calculate 1 chart to test drive it, but after spending a few months doing everything by hand for the class, seeing its speed I was hooked. I called Halloran & activated my copy.

I was impressed by the power of the software, its realistic pricing and equally important, its reliable performance. Since then, I have continued to upgrade the software as Halloran has evolved its capabilities and purchased most of its add-on reports, etc.

I have used multiple other astrology software programs but none come close to Halloran's in the simple, yet refined, approach to chart & report generation. It is a veritable astrological workhorse! If you are a serious student of astrology you will not regret an investment on any of his offerings.

I've studied Astrology on and off for over 40 years and AstrolDeluxe is the best research and most inclusive software for Astrology I have ever used. Hats off to John Halloran for his hard work and dedication.
