Works pretty well for simple charts. This was the first cross stitch charting software I have ever used, so I do not know how it compares to similar programs. I took off two stars because 1) the first time I used it the program crashed a few times, 2) there was a bizarre bug that duplicated one of my chart colors and I could not delete one copy without deleting the whole color, and 3) even though you can change the line style of backstitch symbols with similar colors the chart legend does not change. In summary, this program is not reliable and not suitable for creating charts for publication. You should be prepared to spend some time developing workarounds.
I did like the "real world" view that simulated what my design would look like stitched. The image file import function also worked well. No instructions that I could find, but I was able to figure out how to use the software with some trial-and-error.

I am very unhappy that it does not download it is just throwing your money away to this scam company. I would not have given it a star at all, but it would not let me submit this review without at least one star.

This is my go to pattern maker because of how simple it is to use. I've been using the free version for a while but have converted to the pro version to make larger patterns. The only negative thing is that the colors are sometimes a bit off. Pinks an beiges look the same, and, the more annoying one, a lot of gray colors turn out to be green when you start shopping for thread. Once I even made a stitch for a pale girl with a off white jacket and she ended up a dark muddy looking girl with a gray jacket...So check your colors before you stitch. I don't get to use a preview though because they still don't match up on the pattern maker. Just make sure before you start stitching that you hold colors next to each other to compare, because this pattern maker tends to make darker colors look lighter on paper than they really are.

I added pics for reference. All three of those patterns were made on kg chart. The first one is the girl who ended up darker and off color than she was supposed to.

Pros: Super easy and convenient, not a bad price,

Cons: Colors are a little off so a preview is a little difficult.

SO easy to learn. Flexible; perfect for my needs. Nice printouts of charts in both pdf and jpg formats.

I've been using this program for ... I forget, at least over 5 years. I'm finally buying it now after using free versions, because it's been worth more than $35 over all this time. I still have a completely free copy, but I'll gladly put it aside to support this!

If you're looking for DMC cross-stitch stuff, this is the way to go. The colors are sometimes a bit off when importing pictures (I've learned to eyeball the options with the threads I have), and I hear it's great for perler art as well, though. It's the best of all the options I've tried, back when it was 100% free. But as I've said... I'm buying it now!

This is quite a good program. There are serious limitations. Other stitches and cross stitches cannot be dealt with in the same window or page Mirror images will not save. I have enjoyed using it. But some inventiveness is needed to get the best from it.
