I keep this handy for my email sessions with my Asian friends. It helps a lot.
It also helpsout in my neighborhood. There are several ethnic groups in Living in my immediate neighborhood. None are English speaking.

A good idea on being able to learn multiple languages...

Many programs try to teach you about how to learn a new language. Some programs just teach you the basics and you have to figure out how it's spoken on your own while other programs teach you using a learning system and you practice more as you go.

This program is very ideal. Contains 31 languages for you to learn. Most language programs teach only 1 or 2 based on the language you want to learn. This one comes with a really big variety of languages that you can start out learning and even grasp the basics of the language. Some examples of the lanuages include...

Spanish
French
Yiddish
Thai
Zulu
Hebrew
Swahili
Chinese (Basic)
Japanese (Basic)

And tons more. It even has an English learning system for those who speak Spanish. The program goes through a series of basic training excercises that help you get the basics of the language and then puts you through a series of test and games using the language of that country and even lets you record and playback your voice so you can compair if you are saying it right. Mos programs these days you have to buy the program and then get the language you want on a separate CD/DVD. This set contains 2 CD's that have over 5000 basic phrases that you can learn for each language so you can get an easy grasp from the start, which will help your learning experience as you practice more. It even comes with it's own Language dictionary for all the languages so you have a comprehensive list of all the words you might need to understand in english.

Overall, I have had a great time learning new languages with this program and there's just so many for you to choose from. I personally have enjoyed learning languages using this program because of it's simple ease of learning. Being to record and playback your voice so you can practice and see if you have made progress. A series of excercises that help you get an understanding on how to say the lauage properly. A comprehesive dictionary that contains a huge listing of definitions for each word from each language. You can even practice typing the language out using it's simple learning system that is included with the CD's. My biggest thing is that this was only about $5 brand new. (This program, as old as it is, DOES seem to work on Windows Vista/7/8, at least it does for me. As usual, experiences are different with each computer and user. Once in a while I would run into a crash now and then, but again, it's due to how old the program is. Ideally, this would work perfectly on Windows XP. One warning, at the time, the "HELP" file format that was used for older Windows would work, but due to technology and program issues, the "HELP" system no longer works, so please be ready for this. This program is HIGHLY recommended for Windows XP.)
