3.0 out of 5 stars Not too interesting

This was not very enjoyable and didn't get used too much. Learning materials should be very interesting, especially with such young children.

3.0 out of 5 stars Caillou doesn't talk or move!
Reviewed in the United States on October 9, 2008
My sons (5 & 3) love Caillou but don't love this game! The games are VERY simple, boring, and not much fun. What I mean by simple is that there is very little that you get to do and they could have been created for computers ten+ years ago. The Caillou character doesn't talk and you cannot move him around (except on the flying game where he moves just like a mouse arrow, he never moves his arms or legs), there is just a narrator which is no fun. The ABC game is slightly better because the voice on it seems to be the father's voice (while it is just a woman's voice on the other game). On other kids' educational games you have more options and fun surprises to discover (such as on Jump Start First Grade, Elmo, Clifford where you can click on things and cause things to happen, mustard and ketchup to dance on JSFG, Elmo to eat a cupcake or turn off the lights on him, sounds and making things move on Clifford); on Caillou each game is just what it is. While this makes it easy to navigate the game and easy for younger children, this game will not grow with them and is unlikely to teach them because it doesn't engage them. My sons were really disappointed in the game and will only play a few minutes at most.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing
Reviewed in the United States on December 10, 2011
My 3yo granddaughter loves Caillou, but was so quickly bored with this software. They could have done so much more with the program. An example, one game asks if you want to help Caillou decorate a cake or some cookies. With either selection, the child must go through a series of word/letter problems...thinking when you complete it successfully, you will get to decorate the cake or cookies, but horribly - that's it! As you match the word to the picture, a cookie plops onto a cookie sheet and then it's "Game over, do you want to play again?" NO! She wanted to put icing, or sprinkles, or something on the cookies. I thought it must be a mistake, but that's all you get with any of the "games" with this software. I've never seen such poorly written children's software, from even the cheapest products (and I have purchased numerous such products over the years.) The target age for this is 2-6. Did they not have at least a teacher or parent provide some input. Kids in this age group learn best through interactive play...but there is no play! It's like they wanted the kids to use this software to have last minute reviews before their kindergarten entrance exams. So disappointing - they could have made this so much better with just a little more effort and creativity. Will return it, if I can, and will never purchase a product from Brighter Minds Works LLC again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fairly good game. Yes, does run on Mac.
Reviewed in the United States on May 5, 2010
Another reviewer mentioned that this game doesn't run on a Mac. That is not the case. We've been running it on our Intel-based Mac Mini for quite some time with no issues at all. In fact, it's one of the games that runs better on the Mac than others.

Our daughter has enjoyed the games that are included. She's five now and has this since she was about three. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that the games are fairly simple and I doubt it will hold her interest until six years old as stated on the package.

1.0 out of 5 stars NOT Mac Compatible

This game will NOT work on a Mac, as they advertise. It crashes constantly and was a complete waste of money. Stay away.
