Milling a part often requires multiple passes. The milling tool moves in z then to first milling location; following part contour in sequence allows to cut deepMilling can be used for cutting or creating pocket. When milling; the milling tool must be set at the clearance height. This will allow to clear any obstacle when moving from one milling location to the next. The deep of cut and deep per pass can be set for each object. To adjust the deep of cut and deep per pass, go to the menu Machine->Deep of Cut, then select the values you would like. Depending on the material type and thickness; one or several passes may be required. |
Use the CAD to draw your part or import a .dxf file.The CAD portion of the program has all the required functionality to draw and modified your part. You can create complex drawing by combining 4 basic objects ; LINE, ARC, PARABOLA, and POINT. Each object can be created by entering coordinate or by using the snap. You can merge pre-defined library parts or create your own library of parts. You can also import a .dxf file and modified. In addition, you can use the wizard to create more complex objects. |
Define your machining sequence and the order in which the elements are machined.Once your drawing is ready; the next step is to define what element will be machined and in what order. The sequence of elements to be machined is the routing. To take into account the milling tool diameter; you use the automatic offset objects. Afterward you select the element and direction of the path. You can select one element at the time, or all the elements within a window. The wizard can be used to create more complex path. It allows to make : pocket, hole, donut, tab, and zig-zag zone. |
Switch to the CNC Controller view and start milling with your cnc.To switch to the CNC Controller press the [CNC Mill] button. In the CNC Controller view, you can configure and operate your CNC. Prior to start milling with the cnc, you will need to have adjusted and zero the z-axis at the clearance height. The CNC Controller has several default configuration file; therefore you can configure it just by selecting your CNC machine, the first time the program start. You can also manually set your CNC machine parameters. To start cutting with your laser click the [Apply G-Code] button and go to the menu G-Code->Machine. |
The cad-cam view gives quick access to the drawing tool and laser path
File Name above. All Menu on top; including short keys: CTL+ALT+L to draw line. You draw objects using the mouse or enter coordinates in inch or cm.
The current Position and Snap is shown on the bottom left.
The Tip at the bottom gives you instruction on what to do next.
The Snap panel is to right.
The cnc view allows easy configuration and control; you see the g-code
Machine position above. All Menu on top; you can configure and control your cnc. Jogging is in the middle. You apply the g-code and start executing the loaded g-code. The tool-path is shown to the right. The guide on the top right assist you and guide you. The cnc connect button is on the left.
