4.0 out of 5 stars I like it but . . .

This great program on basic math, but the animation (between exercises) is too fast and somewhat intimidating. Before doing the exercises, I don't want my child to be too "revved" up to focus on the task.

Otherwise this is a great program. Lots of practice exercises reinforce basic concepts.

in this day in age of mediocracy...comes a breath of fresh air...
and a quality piece of software worth every penny...I have used a lot of software over the years and this is a very good one to have!

pros: auto adjust to child's ability, entertaining plot, colorful graphics, 3 levels of play ( easy. med. hard) progress report

cons: none!

I previously taught elementary school for 8 years...with an emphasis on educational software....i over looked this one however! the copyright date is 2003, but not to worry ...quality software is like a great song...it never gets old!

1.0 out of 5 stars Ordered two of them- neither work

The system requirements includes XP so I tried it on that laptop and it also says "and later" so we tried it on our other computer (Windows 7). It does the same thing. It installs but stops working as you enter the first game. I thought maybe it was just that CD since it has so many good reviews it must work for those people. I ordered another copy and it did the same thing. Not user error because my husband is very good with computers. He can do it all, so there's no way. Plus, it's simple-we have the system requirements, we went through the very simple installation wizar (next, next, next...) and then it opens the game, only it won't play one minute into the first game. Maybe it's a bad batch of copies or something. We are so bummed. I got it for my son's preschool graduation present. He was so excited, and then very sad when we couldn't get it to work. If you decide to give it to your child anyway, please don't tell your child about it until after you try installing and then play the game. Go into the "toy store" and follow through with the first game before you tell your child about it. I can't find any good math games quite like this one. So sad :(

It's a great learning experience and really gets the kids interactive and it's amazing how much math and concepts they get in real worl dapplications just from playing this game! I would recommend this to anyone who wants their children to learn math and be ahead of their class! It gives your kids confidence to be the best at math in their class!

There aren't instructions so we had no idea how to get to the games/lessons. There's no clear path to follow either. Random clicking has helped us figure it out now though.

Its not fair to give it bad stars I have an old computer like 9 years old but it has updated applications I guess and I can not install, run, or even look at this. Why is there not an updated version that runs with newer computers waste of money and disappointed children. I am sure it is a fun game but I guess we will never know.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really Educational and Really Fun

My six-year-old daughter, who just started first grade, was completely engaged playing this game. It has a nice layout to explore, lots of activities, and it adapts to a range of skill levels. It was challenging enough to be interesting but not too hard to "win" and save the day for the city. I would give it five stars if only the arcade games were playable -- they were much too hard for my daughter. But she didn't seem to mind, since she really enjoyed everything else.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great math game!

I bought this for my 8 year old daughter, whose weakest subject is math. She LOVES this game and will literally play it for hours. It consists of all kinds of different math games that you can play at three different levels of difficulty. I am just VERY pleased with this game. Suddenly math is FUN for my daughter!
