5.0 out of 5 stars Value!

This rod rack is by far better than any similar (in design) offerings available. Easy to assemble, good design ( with the staggered heights to allow a more compact footprint ) and so far, the durability.
There have been negative remarks on the "loose" rod capturing clips but this is an actual plus. They hold the rod well but allow for easy retrieving/ putting the rod back without putting stress on the rack itself.
On wooden racks of similar design, the stiff clips that retain the rod actually are a negative due to the stress from the effort required to remove or replace the rod, eventually making the retaining bolts loose and the rack wobbly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Coolest fishing rod holder

I ordered this because my Kastking wall mount ran out of room.
Hands down this thing is super cool. Holds rods nice and tight of different sizes and has a little spot on the top to hold line, or other small stuff. I also like that it spins for easy access since I put it in a tight spot in my garage.

It’s doing the job. I just wish it was a bit more sturdy. I would prefer it not be as wobbly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very pleasantly surprised
Reviewed in the United States on December 28, 2023
Given the price, I wasn't expecting much from this rod rack, but I was pleasantly surprised. The rack assembled easily, (less than 10 minutes), held several light- to medium-weight rod/reel combos securely, and thus far seems stable despite the weight of the equipment. I have owned several rod racks over the years, and although all were considerably more expensive than the KastKing V16, from a functionality standpoint, there is virtually no difference. (If anything, the KastKing V16 is superior to the other rod racks I have owned because it has a smaller footprint.) Overall, a good product at a great price that should provide years of service.

Pros:

Excellent price point
Holds several rod/reel combos
Functional design, (the top tray for other equipment is nice, though the fishing line spool holder seems unnecessary)
Well built/sturdy, particularly given its plastic composition
Small footprint
Assembles easily (see "cons" for additional information)

Cons:

Threaded nut that secures the base to the bottom tray did not go on or tighten easily
Foam inserts seem looser than comparable foam retention "clips" on other vertical rod holders

Suggestion:

Great design overall, but adding a ball-bearing ring on the underside of the bottom tray would enable the product to be easily rotated in place. For some people, the inability to turn the rod holder is not an issue. But given the space-saving design, particularly for users storing multiple rod/reel combos, it makes sense to have such a feature.

5.0 out of 5 stars Holds my rod perfectly
Reviewed in the United States on June 5, 2024
I didn’t believe this little gal could hold 16 rods at once, but she surprised me and pulled it off like a champ! She spins around so smoothly sometimes I can’t stop it. But I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants their rods to be handled properly.

5.0 out of 5 stars The rotating base version is a must!
Reviewed in the United States on March 24, 2024
So I decided to get the rotating base version for two main reasons one being that I’m putting it in the corner so I wanted it to spin so I can get to my different rods but also because I figured it would have a heavier base to keep it stable if I have a bunch of rods on one side and both reasons worked perfectly! The non turning one would make it harder to get to other rods and it’s much lighter so I think it could tip over it it got to heavy on one side but I could be totally wrong about that. Plus side is that I got the rotating version on sale so it was actually cheaper than the original version! However I just set it up and put my rods in it and I love it so far! It’s f anything changes then I’ll update my review

3.0 out of 5 stars As a basic rod holder it’s good so far.
Reviewed in the United States on April 22, 2024
I’ve had this thing a few days. I’ve Purposely moved rods in and out of the holders several times. I can see how other reviewers are having issues with stability and the foam inserts for the rods. The unit does rock a little. The manufacturer should take note that simple rubber feet on the bottom of the unit would resolve it. There are indents there but for some reason there aren’t any rubber feet. The foam inserts could be a little stiffer. I found that thicker rods work better. The only rod that was what I would consider to be unsecured is the thin ultra light rod. The line and accessories holder are pointless in my opinion. You have reach through rods to get to them. And the line holder rod isn’t secure nor does it have tension if you want to use it to spool or cut leaders. The offset/dual height positioning is great. They could be a little deeper for added stability. As a rotating rod holder it serves its purpose.
