I don't usually like knee braces because they feel like they are not staying in place and are just uncomfortable all together. While I still hate wearing knee braces, this one is very comfortable and stays in place nicely. It is well made and very sturdy as well. Great purchase.

I am a large man, and have used a number of knee braces, and they all slipped down within minutes and never really worked well. This was more comfortable, and doesnt slip down at all. The side supports, and patella pad seem to hold it in place. My only complaint was that the straps were kind of short, and cheap, and the smaller center ones can pinch the skin behind the knee. It works better over clothes.

I have loose ligamnets that makes my knee shift/ buckle causing pain.
It took a minute to get used to as it was the first time using it. After about three days I really noticed a difference in the pain in my knee. Had to figure out the adjustment right for me. But my knee is doing a lot better than a month ago, I can do short slow distances with no problems without a brace.
~I sized up like directed and I was glad I did. Sizing was good.
It works well, the compression is nice.
~Durability wise. The velcro is already wearing out. This part saddens me most, had another brace that the velcro was still working two years later. -The part for the upper leg above the knee is crinkling and the fabric is separating from the brace. Pinching and a bit uncomfortable.
~It's not too thick, I can wear baggy sweat pants and it fits underneath. And working in a freezer, that's a must.
Works well over spandex leggings even some thermal ones as long as it's not to thick and it's form fitting it does it's purpose. Works best on bear skin.
Over all it's pretty great for the price.

Bad ACL repair back in '90, so I've gone through my share of knee braces! I have purchased some expensive and well-regarded models (Don-Joy, BauerFeind, custom-made uploaders, etc) and the Dr. Brace compares well for everyday support (for yardwork, walking for exercise, and those recurrerent osteoarthritic flare-ups, which seem to occur at inopportune times). I like it's compact design, light weight, and easy on-off process--not to mention the price! Not sure I'd recommend it for intense athletic use, however.

Could have been perfect...

I recently tore the lateral meniscus in my right knee. I am not a candidate for surgical repair because of connective tissue disorder and severe osteoarthritis. My only option is total knee joint replacement, but current timing for this surgery is all wrong. So my doctor gave me a cortisone shot, referred me for physical therapy, and recommended I try a cane for stability and brace and/or sleeve to support the joint.

I tore the medial meniscus in my left knee several years ago, so I have already been through trying to find a brace or sleeve that works for me -- most braces or sleeves are designed for the male anatomy, so as someone with female anatomy, despite trying about a dozen different braces and sleeves, I could not find anything that worked for me. Everything pretty much slid down my leg to my ankle by the time I had taken a couple of steps. But, I thought I would at least look on Amazon to see if there was anything new or different. I came across the listing for the Dr Brace professional knee brace -- with a 4.3 rating and rave reviews, I thought it would be worth trying.

The video on how to determine the correct size of brace to order was crucial -- I would have ordered the wrong size if I had not watched it. The brace is extremely well-made. The included diagram on how to put the brace on is a little confusing, but I found instructions online (both AI written instructions and a YouTube video) that were helpful. The brace could have been perfect if only it were not so uncomfortable to wear. To get the brace to stay in place around the knee, I had to adjust the straps so tightly that the compression was almost painful. Between the strong compression and the brace's side stabilizers, I was unable to bend my knee at all, so during my brief try-on, I was walking around stiff-legged which quickly caused problems with my hip and lower back. And the brace pinched and rubbed on the upper inside fleshy part of my knee causing a small abrasion. I would say that this brace is a quality product so I gave it three stars. I subtracted two stars because it did not work for me and I had to return it.
